    General Question: Carbs vs. Protein

    Hey,

    Just for a general example, for general knowledge:

    Lets say someday you take in a very large amount of calories

    What would be more likely to accumulate as body fat: carbs or protein?

    That is - if you ate way too much protein, is it more likely to accumulate as body fat than if you ate way too many carbs?

    Are you asking if carbs would present a higher bodyfat quicker than protein? if so yes! Carbs are gasoline that when not used is stored as fuel and too much excess can make you have bodyfat.

    Answer - Carbs

    lets say 100gms of each in theory your saying wat would make you gain more weight. 400 calories or 400 calories.... but if you look deeper youl see depending on what sort of protein it is your body will use more calories via thermal effect of feeding digesting the protein than the carbs. So its more like 350 calories or 270 calories ( somewhere round that yer guys??)
    That and carbs spike insulin more than protein so if you intake fats around the same time as the excess carbs they will be more inclined to be stored in adipose tissue than if they were consumed with excess protein.

    sound about right boys?
