    Critique my diet, PLEASE!

Whats up guys, new here, only 2nd post. I accidentally made the mistake of my 1st post being on the lines of "I need a diet?!", read some and found out that was very novice of me, hope all is forgiven...Anyways, a little background. 22yr(M), 5'8.5", 157lbs. I dont know my bodyfat but Ive always stayed in decent shape, washboard stomach (no six pack), size 33 waist, and overall in decent shape. No digital cam. for pics but I will soon because im anxious to hear comments on my bodyfat%. Ive always been in the gym up untill about 1 1/2 yr ago when I broke L wrist and dislocated shoulder. When I was 20 I did a Test. E. cycle with incredible results, however, I know better than to jump the gun and the importance of being in the right shape, bf% etc.. Before even starting again. So for the past week this is the best diet I can come up with (wanting to loose BF%), Im really embarassed but Im trying...

7:30am- Apple and handful of grapes
10:00am- 1/2 lean roast bf. sand. on whole wheat
12:30pm-3/4cp. brown rice w/ baked chic or stk. or Salad w/ bake chic or stk.
3:00pm-Granola Bar ( I feel so bad eating that )
6:00pm- Either 1 of the 2 lunch choices listed above or Sand on whole wheat ( low fat mayo )

I know I know... It sucks. I really need help. Im the kind of guy that if I ask for help, ill take it to heart and do it. A few ?'s... Im going to bed hungry?? Is there something I can eat before sleeping to keep the growls down? Is it normal to feel hungry a couple hours a day? I have so many questions... I renewed my gym membership today, will be starting back on mon. Thats why no supplements are listed, those will be coming this weekend, as youll hear rom me about that too.... You guys really know your stuff, Thanks in advance. Anxiously waiting.....

No offense man, but that is still next to nothing as a far as a diet plan is concerned. It's good that you are willing to research and learn. Check out Milos Sarcev Nutrition Seminar Series on youtube... There are several videos that are very informative. WATCH ALL OF THEM!!! Then, repost what you think a good diet will be and include portion sizes

1 video left. Wow! Someone like myself really realizes how much I didnt know. Very helpful, getting the grasp of it. Couple quick ?'s (Working on diet plan, will post revised ed. tom.) Glutamine? Is this a good sup.? Its cheap and seems to help.... And shakes?!? Some praise...some put down. Want to work in a shake around 4:30 (wrk out is at 5) ane then another one afterwards, or maybe muscle milk? I know that natural protein is farrrr better.... And the last... I think Im screwed on the bf%, no way to get weighed, maybe borrow a cam, because I really need you guys to see me and guess my bf, cause without it i cant get you guys any vital stats to critique my diet on... Will post tom. my revised diet and hopefully pics

As far as supplementing with glutamine its a waste of money. You get enough in regular foods and protein shakes to get what you need, also studies have shown its hard to uptake it,the gut blocks alot of it. And protein shakes will be find to add in your diet, revise your diet shoot some pics and we can help a little further

As far as glutamine and muscle growth, I would certainly agree with topher, but as a recovery agent and when going on a cutting diet, I will always incorporate glutamine into my supplement regimen. However, do not do so if you are drinking a shake anytime soon. The glutamine supplement will compete with the glutamine precursors in your whey and slow it's absorption. I like to use protein shakes only after weight training and would go with whole food whenever possible. Real/whole food will keep your hunger satiated for a longer period of time and utuilizing multiple protein sources (meat/eggs) will provide you with a greater array of amino acid complexes. I would not use Muscle Milk either simply because it has higher amounts of fat than other brands of whey. That's just a preference. I know the stuff tastes pretty damn good
