    Insuling Resistance?

Hey, I started taking Humalog a few weeks ago. Started at 2iu and went up by 2iu every time i took it, 4 days a week after workouts.

I have a blood sugar monitor and ive been taking 11iu for the past week and i realised that 15grams of carbs is all i need for 11ius. Do i have some sort of insulin resistance? anyone else experienced this? im pretty sure i could inject 15iu-20iu and be more than fine with 50grams of carbs.

    Are you taking some gh?
Are there diabetics in your family?

no one in the family has diabetics and im not on GH. I've tested my blood sugar levels as soon as i wake up, its 94mg/dl which is in the normal range.

Are you sure that your slin is good?

Ye its good. This is my second run at Slin and the same effect last time, i thought the previous one was crap but this reacts the same way. Ive tested my blood sugar after taking it and it goes down but im reacting with 10iu like a normal person does 3-4iu im guessing. Just a crazy high tolerance

What's your blood glucose on empty stomach when you wake up?
Are you keeping the slin in the fridge?

blood sugar is 94mg/dl as soon as i wake up and i keep my insulin in the fridge. The weird thing is that i can eat a 1000calorie meal and check my blood sugar go up and go down within a few hours but 10iu will not effect me to that level. its like my body releases huge amount of insulin on its own and 10iu is nothing in comparison.

I would say that you're insulin resistent in this case. Have you noticed if you tend to put on fat with diets that contain considerable amount of carbs (50% or so)?

My diet consists mostly of carbs but i never gain fat, im one of those hardgainers. Is this a sign of diabetes later in life or just my bodies natural high levels of insulin?

If you don't tend to gain fat with large amount of carbs i wouldn't say that you're very insulin resistent. But your reaction to exogenous slin is strange.
