So I finally got measured at the gym this morning by one of the trainers. She used standard calipers. She only pinched behind my arm/above the tricep, the front of my arm above the bicep area, and then one side of the front and back of my waist area.
She told me I'm 12.5%. Any of you who have seen my pictures (posted in the Members Pictures section) know i'm nowhere near 12.5% - more like 18%. This leads me to believe 1 of 2 things:
1) The calipers suck
2) The trainer doesn't know how to use them
The disappointment is that I still don't know my true % - I was anxious to finally know that number so I can more accurately find out my BMR and TDEE and start my diet right on Monday. Now i'm no better off than I was all along.
For now I have to stick with the assumption that i'm around 16%-18% based on members feedback to my pics. I hope 2000 cals/day is enough, but not too much so as to maximize fat loss.
