Need some ideas for PWO carbs

My situation is as follows: I eat immediately after leaving the gym. That means i'm sitting out in my truck in the gym parking lot. I have an hour drive to work so waiting to get to work to eat is out of the question.

I would LOVE to have oats with my whey shake, but obviously I cannot do that without hot water. Basically, I need to eat something kep cold in my cooler, or room temp depending on the season here in NJ.

Right now, I am bringing 2 pieces of bread (whole grain w/ flax seed, no corn syrup or any additive crap like that) which I know most of you will say to stay away from while on a cut diet. On top of that, I am adding about a tbsp. of natty PB to the bread to make it more enjoyable - i'm guessing that PWO, the PB is a no-no?

Assuming the PB is a definite no-no PWO, and the bread by itself isn't an ideal carb - are there any suggestions you guys can give me? I just can't think of anything - i'm really not interested in eating cold brown rice at 7:30am, that's why the bread seems so fitting for 'breakfast' (think toast).

    Help!!!

I wouldn't call the PB or the bread a "no-no" by any means. In fact, I always eat fats pwo. You don't need hot water for oats. Simply buy thin sliced, rolled oats and shake up 1/2 cup of them with your whey and 2 tbspn. natty PB. There you go, PWO cocktail for champions.

waxy maize(or gluco maize) might be a good choice. It is a powder and will mix in with your protein shake. Another option is putting your oats in a coffee grinder and grinding them down to a very thin powder. Put this in a ziplock bag and they will mix into your PWO pretty good.

, their good carbs, good protein, low G.I, low fat

or you could just have the cooked kidney beans alone

    Thanks all for your input.

@Ranging - what baked beans are you referring to? All of the ones I know of are loaded with sugar... I suppose I could just go with kidney beans, but cold at 7:30am... ECK!!! I'll do it if I have to though...

i didnt do it all the time--maybe twice a week---but angel food cake---very low in fat, like 0, good as hell too---its like 30 gr carbs 0 fat--u wont have a problem eatin that no matter what time of day it is------another option is a banana, i did this very often, just blended it up in my whey-----alot of guys say do complex carbs, and i did those too but u can almost get away with murder pwo---oh yea u could also do an apple---these are all easy and convenient for ur situation

Isn't the angel food cake all sugar? Maybe most people can get away with 'murder' PWO, but I seem to have the metabolism of a glacier and need to do everything right!

grind them up is the way to go. Before you leave for the gym mix it all together so when youre finished the shake is ready to go....

I once did this w/ shrooms. I didn't see any gains but I tripped balls for like 6 hours.

Look into a supplement called Perfect Carb made by LG Sciences. It's very cheap and each scoop packs 30g of carbs in a waxy maize, dextrose, and maltodextrin mix. I have been adding a couple of scoops in my protein shakes for a while now
