Thread: My HIIT routine

    My HIIT routine

I am going to try HIIT cardio after my workout. Was thinking 30 sec jog @ 65% HRT and 30 sec sprints at 90% and doing this for 15 mins? Any thoughts??

Well that's almost impossible! So as a rookie to HIIT I tried 2 min intervals today for 20 mins. So fast walk for 2 mins then sprint for 2 mins repeat for 20 mins???

I assume that you are using a personal hr monitor and not grabbing the metal grips on the tm??

What I have done in the past is a 2 min warmup then 60 sec sprint at whatever speed it takes me to get my hr up in the 160's and the cooldown will take as long as it takes to get my hr below 120; that might by 60 sec, 90 or even 2 min. You will have to play with this one. I think that 20 min is sufficient because this is high intensity. Not too sure that you should do this everyday, maybe start out with eod......jmo.....

yeah I use a wrist one.

It took me 2 mins to get back down to 65-70%

right on, they key is what Popsins said, you must allow your self to cool down and it doesn't matter how long it takes, then run again....i tried to do it everyday but my joints and hips gave up on me, so I do one day HIIT and two days low intensity…

If you really want to burn fat then do it on an empty stomach first thing in the morning.

I'd take a protein shake and/or some amino acids to help preserve muscle.
