    Powder???

Ok, I used to take in a lot of powder and I got gains from it... maybe not as much as I could have with a proper diet but...

I have no taste buds and a stomach the size of a walnut and eating a large meal or even a small one is like running a marathon.

What is the problem with powder?

Powders are help full yes, but eating meals instead of powders is better for your gains, you cant just replace your meals with powders and expect to have the gains you want, food is just better plain and simple

Yeah a colon doc for powder and another doc for steroids and another for osteoporosis when you get older from taking in way too much protein but seriously...

I've given up (protein) powder because people get onto me about "too much powder" but I've found myself trying hard to eat properly for a while but I can never actually stick to it...

Even if it isn't as good as food... what could it possibly hurt me to do a couple shakes per day to keep me up on my protein needs...

I mean nutritionist will prescribe Ensure to the elderly or people with eating problems...

Why don't you try to find out why you are not able to eat instead of trying to find easy ways out?

You will not make good gains from powder. it is a supplement. use it like a vitamin. You think ronnie coleman has a powder diet?

I hate this protein powder debate bs. nobody who is anybody stands behind liquid foods (until they get paid to)

Ronnie Coleman probably eats what ever he wants he is a genetic freak and would gain muscle on bread and water in a mexican prison... haha

I'm not trying to find the easy way out... I'm just asking for my own personal knowledge... I'm also not debating whether food is better or powder...

I've just been told over and over again "powder is bad" but no one seems to know why... just like those jerks ie professional bodybuilders who get paid to say "I got big cause I did a thousand dollars in supplements made by Muscle Tech... (you know who you are... you big blonde black-looking white guy) haha

None of their ads say why so you got to research why something works or doesn't...

thats what I'm doing.. why is powder so bad compared to food?

protein powder is JUST that... protein. food is not either a protein or a carb. there are so many nutrients in each food (phytonutrients, enzymes, amino acids, etc), a protein powder cannot do all that. It is also a liquid and therefore is out of your body in a matter of minutes. it is good for a quick target purpose, but cannot satisfy all the needs the body has. Just like chicken should not be the only protein source. People forget that we need even the "bad" ingredients of food (ie saturated fat) and to neglect whole foods for even one meal can be detrimental.

Do I use protein shakes? Yes, all the time (twice today). But do I use them as a crutch? Not at all.

I have been in your situation. I stretched my stomach till I shit blood, and now I eat like a horse. I just ate 1lb of steak, 2 bushels of asparagus, 1 monster milk shake from the gym (new flavor wanted to try it), and I am about to eat a whole box of cocoa pebbles as dessert (do not try this at home kids). So if you need help with the stomach thing ask, "how do I stretch my stomach so I don't have to buy into this protein shake crap?"

ps. LMFAO at "big blonde black-looking white guy"hahahahhahahahhaha

Powdered protein is kinda like any other processed food its "processed". Another way to look at it, most protein powder is made from milk products. Would you drink a big glass of milk and say it was a meal? If your eating 6-8 meals a day you should be able to hold that much food. Meals are smaller than the "3xday meal plans" when you eat every 2 hours.

Powder is not bad! It should just be used to supplement your current meals.
