    Diet Question

Hey guys, I'm trying to get big. Obviously, I don't want to get fat, but that may not really be that possible for me...

    Stats:
    26
    5'8"
    14%bf
    150 lbs

My diet consists of protein shake in morn
Breakfast at fast food restaurant, picking a chicken biscuit

lunch varies greatly but go out, picking a dish high in protein, low in fat as best as i can tell...

    Protein shake again

    Work out

Then usually stuff myself with chinese general tso chicken... (Hey its next door to the gym lol)

ok so let the slanderous comments roll how bad is that really? I know the sugar in chinese is high, but it's after work out, so isn't that ok?

For drinks, I almost always drink plain water...

Sometimes instead of a protein shake I substitute a weight gainer, or add it before the work out, after my second protein shake...

When I work out, I use NO Explode or NO Superpump 250 and that's about the full extent of supplements save for generic vitamin (usually double), fish oil pills, glutamine, ginseng n saw palmetto

    Comments appreciated...

Judging by your stats you should not be going to get chinese food... at all... and not after the gym either.

    thanks

Thanks for the help. I guess I didn't realize how bad it was... It's tough to really believe all the diet hype because one diet says a food is good and another says it's bad and vice versa.... It helps to know WHY something is bad to really make it stick... I was on a low carb diet for a while and never noticed any really change, so it's hard to believe....

I've changed the diet up some tho... instead of for breakfast mcdonalds chicken biscuit, eating a double helping of eggs from there instead (no bread/biscuit, just eggs)

And for lunch, I'm going to subway and getting a 6" chicken on wheat with double meat.

What makes the Chinese General Tso so bad after a work out? Even on those videos which I watched the first 3 last night, he said it's ok and good actually to have high sugar during and right after your work out but that's the only good time.

Can anyone tell me if that was a good switch up? Trading out 4 scrambled eggs at mcdonalds instead of a chicken biscuit (didn't really think the chicken would be that bad but maybe that's better?)

And I never realized you could get a fair price for doubling the meat on a 6inch to cut some of the carbs out (yes it's wheat)

By the way, my activity level is very light at work, about the only REAL active activity is 3 days a week working the weights as intensely as possible. Actually... I thought I worked out before I met this guy that's REALLY working me out... we do a lot of different sets, work out 2 or 3 hours every other day without fail...

In between, I was thinking about going running every "off" day, bad or good idea at my body weight / bf?

Bass - just now understood what you were saying above.... no I don't really know what I was trying to say above... definitely wasn't trying to say and don't think I'm fat... just, I guess it's that you hear you can't gain muscle without gaining fat but definitely don't want to get fat.

    The two big goals are:
Get Abs (Every time a girl learns that you work out they want to see your abs, and i dont have a pouch, but no definition...)

Get Big (It'd be nice to be the guy that doesn't move when two people are crossing paths... Have you noticed it's always the little guy that moves out of the way for the big one?)

Let the Daily Diet Slamming Commence...
    Today I've taken:

    Eggs (4) at McDonalds
Doubled up protein shake with water instead of milk (50G Protein)
Subway 6" Chicken Sub with double meat
Doubled up protein shake with water instead of milk (50G Protein)
Taco Bell "Diet Menu" Fresco Grilled Streak soft taco X 2
    Water only with all meals.

...want to take another protein shake, but man these get expensive... any pointers on cheap supplement shakes?

no offense---but its still really really bad---again look at these other diets and duplicate---as long as u have the words-mcdonalds,subway,and taco bell in ur diet it will continue to b really really bad, lol

    really

Can you explain why? If Eggs at the store aren't bad, why would eggs at McDonalds be? Or are eggs bad?

As long as you don't pick something bad at those places, how is just being at that restaurant be bad?

Can you give me reasoning behind it than that "it's bad"?

What I'm saying is... the nutrition info for it doesn't seem bad as far as I can tell any from the videos... The eggs are ok they are very normal "stats" for eggs even though they come from Mcdonalds... (actually where do they really come from probablly sysco foods inc heh)

At any rate... take a look:
    http://caloriecount.about.com/calori...-eggs-2-i84428

This shows lots of protein and fat and almost no carbs, which is fine and perfect according to those videos Bass posted above... he states it's ok to have fat or carbs mixed with protein, just not both energy types (fat and carb) at the same time.

eggs are perfectly ok---its just when u order anything from a restaurant u dont know how they cook it----for instance i went to a golden corral for breakfast once and had the guy make me an omelet---they do this in front of u---he poured atleast a half a cup of butter in the pan--i told him i didnt want the butter and he insisted he had to use it to keep the eggs from sticking---i had to tell him 3 times to pour it out-------u could order a chicken breast about anywhere and i guarantee they use all kinds of butter and oil to cook it---after all if they dont and it tastes like shhit most people wouldnt come back---

take one day aweek and cook ur food for the week---gotta get tupperware----thats all there is to it--no other way around it-----subway aint that bad but if i ate it, it would b once a week and i feel like im cheating----now if ur still serious--take my advice and look at some of the other critiqued diets in this forum and try to duplicate and then post it and we will help tailor it to ur needs-----there should b no, i repeat no, restaurants listed in said diet
