    Microwaved scrambled eggs for breakfast

For my breakfast, I crack eight eggs into a bowl, whisk them, and put it in the microwave. (I don't take any of the yolks out).

A few days ago, I had a guy tell me that I'm destroying a lot of the goodness in the eggs by microwaving them. Is this true?

I did a google search and did not come up with anything that supports the advice you were given. Not saying that it is not true, but I could not come up with anything..

I have heard that microwave ovens are better because the food is cooked quicker giving the nutrients less time to be destroyed, however I have also heard that the actual microwaves (the actual heat) that microwave ovens produce destroy nutrients....

IMO it doesn't matter as long as you dont overdo it with whichever method you choose

    my 2 cents

microwaves vibrate water molecules to cook... This does not destroy anything anymore than any other method. Just do what you do.

Yeah microwave cooking eggs is no more harmful than pan cooking eggs. It actually maybe less damaging to the eggs than pan cooking. Plus it doesn't take long at all to cook eggs in the micro anyway. Plus egg protein is way more bioavailable cooked than not anyways.

It has not been scientifically proven to remove the goodness, so that should solve your problem.
