    Fast carbs after workout

    In addition to a protein shake after a workout, is Gatorade an acceptable source of carbs after a workout? I was eating a banana afterward, but some meat head told me I'd be better off drinking something sweet like Gatorade to get the carbs into my system. Legit or legit bullshit?

    alot of guys do gatorade---id stick with the banana

    What is the time frame for getting the carbs and protein into your system after lifting to be most effective? Usually I do it immediately, but I guess my concern was the banana would take longer for my body to absorb...

    yea do it right after---u will b fine with the banana----i do oats or banana

    I sometimes put a banana in the shake, makes it taste better.

    yea thats what i do--plus 2-3 strawberries---really good
