Thick cut sirloin or I make 93/7 hamburger steaks, I like cuz I put choped veg/galic in it. Not a dumb question, cuz most guys think a ribeye is a good steak. I havnt had one of those in like 4 years. Lol

The best lean cuts are any of the sirloin cuts for taste and texture. Now there are tons of cheap cuts that are very lean if you can eat it tough. I love beef and usually have at least one cut a day. I get sirloin at Costco for 2.99/lb thats cheaper than lean ground at the regular supermarket and it taste good and tender.

Stay away from filets, ribeyes, and the T bone. A NY strip ever now and then would probably be ok.

OMG I would die for a porterhouse or T-Bone cut! I've been eating sirloin, Stop and Shop has 'petite' cut sirloin -decent portion size per steak.

I need to start eating lean ground beef too, getting sick of the turkey.

In order of highest fat to lower fat (but still fat) would be: Ribeye, Filet, Chuck steak, T-bone, Ny Strip.

A lot of people see the filet and NY as lean cuts from the way they look but the marbling of meat is a lot closer so its hard to see it. Thats the reason a properly cooked filet is like butter.
