40 yr old newb would like some advice..

First off, thanks for reading the post and please bear with me as it will be long winded. I am as mentioned 40 and about to start my first cycle (hopefully-depending on the source) and have several questions to fire out that i'm sure only a newb would be asking. The relevant info first: I am a hardgainer but in the past have been in peak physical condition due to time in the 82nd Airborne (hey to all you vets and currently serving fukrs!) and know how to train (although i may have a few questions on lifting for mass in future posts). I am starting to eat right again and lift steadily after much on and off over the years. I've done loads of research and am starting to ingest between 275 and 350g (for now) of protein daily with much fish, pork, chicken and supps - getting my carbs from good grains, veg, milk, cheeses, etc. (very easy on the pasta and rice as of now). I am 5'10" and 193 sitting at about 95% body fat Don't really care too much what my BF is (am normal build with a little excess) but definitely would like to turn some of this excess fat into solid gain. Married with children so i don't care much about a V taper just looking to trim some fat whilst gaining as much mass as possible. This is where you lifting vets come in. The cycle I have planned is here: http://www.steroid.com/novicecycle2.php
I realize that as a newb i should do all the research before asking any questions. I have done assloads of research and could probably find most of what i want/need to know if i searched for another week but would rather have experienced opinions in an open forum to gain as much specific knowledge as possible. And that is what this is all about, no? So please have some patience and if you have any questions drop a line and i will answer whatever is needed. Here are my questions:
To cook or not to cook? any good references on cooking, diluting, sterilization techniques and injecting with visuals? Basically, is there a one stop shop for all my pinning questions on the web?
Should i stay lean on my diet once i start the cycle or should i up carbs and good fats?
Will staying lean on the diet while ingesting enough protein be a detriment to muscle mass? Should i just bulk up and quit whining about the fat?
I would like to avoid the first timers bloat if possible but would rather keep the mass gains..
The deca is for the joints but as i have read the first cycle should be minimal and the body will take to the test very well the first time - the question is to stack or not to stack - i could probably get by without the deca and d-bol both if this will compromise future cycles but really like the idea of the jump start of d-bol and the well-being\joint relief of the deca? If this will up my tolerance significantly by how much and what is your opinion - is it worth it?
would i take the nolva during cycle if i were to drop one or both?
any and all opinions are appreciated -- thanks all..

what i think most will tell you is go to the diet section and get your diet sorted out first and you would need to be at a lower bf% to use aas, also take your time and research on this site there are alot of guys that are willing to help and have the right answers.
    good luck

I would go with s strong diet and exercise routine for now, and maybe throw in some thermogenics like a clen or albuterol to help the process.

Welcome to the board. Just turned 40 myself.

Now let's get down to it. Most on this board recommend test only for a first cycle. 500mg/week. 10 or 12 weeks. Everybody is different, and hormones react differently in each person. So if you are taking test and test only, you know, beyond a shadow of a doubt that all sides/gains came from the test. My body reacts to test like this.... gained X pounds and had trouble sleeping on week 8...or whatever happens you know it came from the test. If you decide to run another cycle ( you will), you can add another hormone and see what that does. I know test affects me like this, now this is happening. It must be the other hormone I am putting in my body...

At our age, PCT knowledge is must. There is an entire section devoted to this. Head there and get as prepared as you can. Always have everything you might need on hand before starting the cycle. Test, an AI, and all the PCT meds you might need.

Finally, head over to the 'diet' section. There is a thread at the top "so you wanna learn how to diet". It's a video. About an hour long, but broken down into small parts. Watch a few today, few tommorrow and finish the video in a week. That is the most important thread on this website. That video alone will change your life.

There is also an over 40 forum, if you want to hang out with us old farts.

Good luck, I wish you well.

How did I miss the 95% body fat?!?!?!?!?! I'm sure that's a typo, but man is that funny.

Hey man, good to have you. Like slimy said, people will advise test only cycles for the first time. I can understand where the deca plays its part with the joints, but if you say you can do it without the deca then i would try to. Also, the dbol at the beginning will probably cause some bloat, but that can be worked off after you're done with it. The cycle isn't a bad one by any means, but like slimy said, you will want to know what is happening if you get bad side right? But, with the test e, odds are that first 4 weeks, any sides would be coming from dbol, not always though. Then after you cycle and pct and stay off for a few months, you can throw the deca in there at an even higher dose if you want and go with it from there.

Diet is key, so thats a must. I know you eat really healthy, but with training like this, there is more than what the food is made of. There are macronutrients and other stuff to consider. Either way, post exactly what you eat each day so they can critique it for you.

    Good luck bro,

    "dirty d"

much and many thanks all -- and 95% BF was a joke (was supposed to be a smiley after that - doh!) - i'm sitting around 18-19% right now - i got my winter fat on! sorry for the jumbled compressed post today but I sent that out while taking a break this afternoon.. my workout cycle is usually workout for 5-6 mnths during the winter and am usually plenty busy working outside in the summer and shed my winter weight in no time.. I have started to get a little more serious as the years have gone by and am ready to get my freak on and lift much steadier.. I have just signed up for bodyspace.com and am starting to keep close tabs on intake, set specific goals, etc. As I won't be starting the AS cycle for a month or so I figured i could get my diet squared and all the info i need from good dudes like you guys. The PCT i have researched in depth and am taking very seriously (but will still hit the section and soak up what i can) so no worries. I have taken everything said into consideration and am leaning toward a strictly test cycle but Dirty makes a case to keep the Dbol in there - Dbol or no? Great info guys! I am heading over to the diet section and start "learnifying" and will definitely hit you guys up in the old man section. Again, much appreciated!
