    Best Used Sport Motorcycle?

I'm thinking of getting a bike again. I really love the sport muscle bikes like the Buells. A local dealer is selling a cheap used 2000 Triumph Sprint 955i that looks nice. Most of my neighbors have crotch rockets Kawasaki, yamaha, honda or suzukis and they love them. I'm not really into the Harley thing even though Buell is owned by Harley. In other words, I don't want a Fat Boy or Sportster.

The Japanese bikes are built good and they're cheap. I looked at Harley, BMW and many others before I bought my Honda VTX 1800. They're common so parts are readily available. As far as used bikes, you'll get a good deal with the jap bikes. You're in the midwest, same as me, so riders in our area don't usually put too many miles on their bikes. MY 2c

I just found a nice Suzuki 600 for my son and a Buell for me at the same Harley shop outside Chicago. Sent the guy a cash offer by email that was resonable for what other bikes in that range were going for. Plus I figured it makes his day unloading two bikes at once for cash out the door? Sent me back an email that pretty much told me to go EF myself. I guess business for motorcycles is outstanding in the midwest rate now??????????

Kind of funny because I was passing the time talked to a local Harley salesman. We were at a party at the same time and he told me sales are less than half of what they were a few years ago. Basically, the motorcycle industry is in the crapper due to the economy.

Ive bought 2 bikes now from an auction site called crankyape. It deals mainly with repos and totaled bikes. Both of mine were totaled but I ended up getting a clear title and damage was minimal (plastic, mirrors, etc). Most bikes Ive seen on that site go cheap. They have several locations so you have to pay attention to where the bike is located. I paid to have my Suzuki SV650 shipped but I only paid $1150 for it and once again, damage was minimal. Ive seen Buells, Harleys, Ducatis, and many others offered there.

If you like the sound of a harley on steroids, more torque than a 600, wheelies in 3rd on throttle, AND cheap... honda superhawk. You will not stop smiling on this bike. Trust me. Only down side is bad gas mileage and small tank.

That reminds me of a Kawasaki Eliminator 900 I had. It was Kawasaki's answer to the Yamaha Vmax back in the 80's. Bad gas mileage and tank was small so I was always stopping to get gas, just became stupid after awhile.
