I met this guy in the gym about a week ago.
He's plump, he says he's 28% bodyfat.
The reason I took an interest in him is that I saw he was actually trying to do all the exercises properly, and he had a pen and paper with him to write down what he did.
I helped him out with some exercises and we got to talking.
Anyway, he told me that he had lost 80 pounds in the last year. He did it without any drugs (and yes I believe him). He had pictures to prove it, the guy used to be a blimp, an absolute obese mess. Seriously, his chin flowed right into his upper chest.
So when I heard that he'd lost 80 pounds in one year, I realised that this guy had the willpower and drive to achieve his goals.
But here's the thing... in my opinion he's not aiming high enough. He says stuff like "Oh I'd be happy to get below 20% bodyfat". This guy doesn't seem to realise what he's capable of, and I reckon he'd been training even harder if he knew just what he was capable of.
I've been trying to tell him "Hey man if you can lose 80 pounds in one year NATURALLY then you've definitely got the resolve to go all the way through with this".
I was trying to explain to him, that if he keeps going the way he's going, then he can look like a 100-metre sprinter in a few years if he wants to, there's no reason to settle for "less than 20% bodyfat".
Anyway I got his e-mail address and I promised I'd send him Before And After pictures of guys who went from a complete obese mess, to totally ripped and muscular.
Has anyone here got any good links for such pics? I remember maybe about a year ago, I read a phenomenal thread (I can't remember which forum) where a guy had transformed himself so much that nobody would believe him. He had to post loads and loads of Before pictures, and then everyone was telling him to hold up a sign saying "Whatever" to verify that it was him.
Anyway, everyone believed him in the end, he made an amazing transformation.
...but here's the thing, I've been searching the internet and I can't find the thread!
If anyone has any links to Before and After pics, I'd appreciate it.
