    Low Fat Diet?

Does anyone know how much a low fat diet will zap your testosterone levels? Like for instance could it drop you to the point were your testosterone levels would be below normal range? Now this would be if you were still eating 6 meals per day with 180 grams of protein and between 160 and 200 carbs. Calories would be around 2500 but just very low fats. Any input?

I can only speak from what I've heard in researching my own PCT diet and personal experience. I was told that any less than 30% of cals coming from fat can contribute to test falling below normal range. However, there's a larger factor at play here. If you're consuming 20% less calories than your tdee, your body may go into starvation mode. The body sees reproduction as far less of a concern if it's starving and will produce far less test accordingly.

An active sex life, training hard, resting harder, eating plenty and burning off cals as opposed to starving them off, and consuming no less than 50g per day of fat for 200g pro/carb is a winning formula.

Why go on a low fat diet?

Mono and poly-unsaturated fats are essential!

Just keep saturated fats in moderation and trans fat as low as possible.

My concern is not whether to be on this diet or not. It is whether being on this diet may have contributed to my low test score? I am probably getting 50 grams of fat in a day as i eat one serving of fats with meals
5 and 6. Then the only other fats i get are from the chicken and egg yolks that i eat with meals 1-4.

50g is the bare minimum. A dude with a fair bit of LBM who isn't on a high carb diet should be getting more. Also, a tbspn. of oil or other fat source with your last 2 meals is only gonna be 34g or so. 2 egg yolks has 9g and chicken/tuna/etc has hardly any. You need more IMO.

I'm not saying this is why you have low test but I am saying it's quite possible and I'm glad you posted.

Well the worst part is at the age of 38 i have been on TRT for the last 8 months to treat my low test scores. Though i feel better i will always wonder whether i could have got those scores up by eating more efa's. Now i don't know if i could recover my natty test levels after being shut down for so long? If i only knew then what i know now! Bye the way my natty levels were 245 range 400 to 1080 ng and now on 100 mg per week of test cyp my level is 870 ng/dl. My pic in the avy is before starting TRT as well.

Oh okay, I see. Sorry about that.

But yeah, 50g is kinda low. Eat some almonds (or any nut really). Or try peanut butter? (If you have problems eating more than 50g in the future..)

I have HEARD that it could attribute to low natural test levels, but I don't know for sure. I am intrigued to know though.

monounsaturated fats are better for increasing test production btw. Peanuts for example would be a better choice than walnuts.

At the time i had blood work done my LH levels were ran as well and they were with in normal range. Would this mean that i was eating enough fat in my diet? Seems as if my body was releasing enough LH that it would stimulate the tesis enough to produce enough T?
