    Shouder workout (to much?)

I was wondering what some of u think. If its to many sets or to many reps. Or if there is something better i could fit in. Im going for mass and i try to use ans much weight as possible.

Military Press- 10 sets to failure
Barbell Back Shrugs -10 sets to failure
Barbell Front Shrugs-10 sets to failure
Lateral Raises- 10 sets to failure
Dumbbell Shrugs -10 sets to failure

This is more of a trap workout than shoulders..go with something simple.

    Shoulder press 4x8-10
    Upright Rows 3x8-10
    Lateral Raises 3x8-10
    Rear Delt Raises 3x8-10
    Dumbell Shrugs 3x8-10
    Behind back Dumbell Shrugs 3x8-10

I agree with rickrick, 4/5 exercises is enough for a nice shoulder workout 8-10 reps.

Not a fan of behind back shrugs, but to each his own. If done with enough intensity and with proper form, you should struggle to lift your arms after doing ricks work out.

I always do 4 sets but thats just me, I dont think 3 sets is enough to trigger growth, again thats just my opinion.

    Too much.

    25-30 sets is plenty.

That workout would take you every bit of an hour and a half if not more, way too long.

And like Rick said you are getting into a little back there too with some of those.

Shrugs 3x over is a little redundant, one will do just fine.

50 sets! holy sh-- i would have inflamation in my shoulders for 6 months. 6-8 exercises and 6-10 reps workes well for me.

I do 18 sets for delts and 6 for traps and I thought that was a lot until I read this.

Thanks for the input guys. I'll give Ricks routine a try see how it feels and ya that routine is at least an hr in the gym on a good day.

If you are doing 30 sets for your traps how many sets are you doing for legs which is at least a 5x bigger muscle?
