    Old and Confused

I'm 66 and I lifted my first barbell 51 years ago. I've lifted off and on, read, studied, used every kind of gear - been big and bigger.

At age 58, I was benching 300 and had 18" arms. Left because of travel, injuries, and laziness.

Now, I'm back and the world of lifting has left me way behind. You guys know more about physiology, biochemistry and endocrinology than I ever dreamed possible.

My point: I started out a few weeks back lifting hard (no free weights, just machines).
I researched pro-hormones (I'm afraid of test - dont want to shut down my natural production) so I started on pro-hormones.

I doing a 4 week cycle on Beastdrol with two accompanying test booster/pct products. Doing proper liver support and using Syntrex whey for additional protein.

Then I discovered peptides: ordered CJC-1296 and GHRP-6 with 31 gauge pins. I wanted to stay away from HGH because of price and accessibility.

If HGH is better for me than the two peptides above, then I will go that route.

I just need some advice from someone who understands all this for senior folks. I am not overweight - 6' and 190. Good muscle memory. Know how to work hard but dont want to be dumb and get injuries.

There is so much on the market I dont know where to start. I dont mind using real anabolics, but I dont know which ones are appropriate for someone my age.

Is there someone on the site my age to talk to, or are one of you mods up to the task. Thanks for any help or advice in advance. I'm somewhat embarrassed to post on the main board with all the younger guys.

Congrats on having the will and fortitude to pound it out at 66! I'm not your age, I'm 43 and about your height and weight, and I'm not a mod, so I hope you don't throw me out too quick. I do feel old and confused a lot of the time myself if it's any consolation

Are your test levels still high enough to where you don't want to consider TRT? I don't know much about that specific PH (Beastdrol), but you could stand to shut yourself down just as easy with a PH as you could with Testosterone or any hormone. At 66, and even at 43, I would be more worried about the sides you would get from the PH's, especially in the liver, which would be avoided for the most part if you injected Test.

If it were me, and since you said you don't mind using "real" anabolics, I would take a closer look at getting on a little "T" and consider something like Anavar if you want an oral to take. At 43 or 66, we don't need havoc on our livers, and I think you would get a lot more bang for your buck at the gym. I'd be real curious with what your natural test numbers are at your age. Mine are in the high 100's without my HRT.

prohormones are as hard on the body as real stuff, first thing u need to do is get blood work done and see where your test levels are as well as liver functions test.
I am almost your age and on TRT, problem is i dont think i will ever be able to get off trt, last time i tried was pure hell, but a small 100mg of test E does the job, balls have shrunk and dont seem to want to go back to normal but at my age not sure how important that is.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but take a look at HCG for your atrophy situation. I think it would be great at any age to have normal, healthy size testicles.

Just take hcg along with your T and shut down won't have to be a real problem. T is so important for your other muscles along with the ones you keep in good form from lifting. Your heart and brain will benefit and yes, older men who have higher levels of T always have lower incidents of all other diseases, including cancer. Hard to believe I know.

Get the book, 'The Testosterone Syndrome' by Dr Eugene Shippen. It's a great read but since it was written quite a few years ago his ideas on T shots are behind the times. Now it is done much more frequently with good results.

Cosmic -- you might want to start with a little blood work to see where things are at. You might be shocked how low (or high) your testosterone levels are right now. Work from there once you have the data.

Old and Epic are spot on..get the blood work so at the very least you have a base line to work from. Keep in mind muscle only atropies and just needs some work for it to start to regain its form. At 57, i appreciate that you want to stay normal. I had suffered for two years of low test symtoms before WebMD and this site fired me up with my Dr. After two years of injections, i can't say that i feel anything but normal. The one thing i can tell you about this site is it is loaded with more brain power than brawn. I downloaded lots of the educational threads, printed them out and highlighted the hell out of them... did not want to bother anyone with questions when the answers were posted but my experience on this site is everyone is willing to help. Good luck mate.

I'm impressed with your will and determination, it's really the spirit of a weight lifter.

Keeping the Test normal would require a few injections, which can be obtained easily, but what concerns me how your body is behaving and it's response. As we age, various of body operation will deteriorate.

High blood pressure, diabetes, liver intoxication, are always risks at higher age. But as long as you keep you diet right, I'm sure you can go on till 70+. Be sure to take care of the rest of your body as well, make sure you attend a casual check up.

Lastly, I dont think there's anything embarrassing about posting your will here, I'm sure everyone cares more of the spirit than anything else. Keep it up and take care there!

Thanks everyone for your solid suggestions. You are all right about the bloodwork and I will do that next week. Last time I had it done 3 years ago (3 years after last test, deca, sust, tren cycle) my test was in the 400+ range.

Liver profiles have always been good; I drink intermittently and eat what I want. My HDL is always over 85 and that keeps my cardio-vascular system in good health despite not exercising.

I will drop the beastdrol and try to get an AAS. I still have the capacity to get big, but I would rather stay slim and cut. So I may mix text and GH with the appropriate amount of HCG and PCT.

After all the positive articles I've read about CJC-1298 and GHRP-6, I get the feeling that GH is a better way to go; am I wrong?

So, at 66, if you were going to go on a 6 week cycle what AAS would you use: Ethanate or one of the others (too many for me to count or understand their capabilities). I know that some of them control estrogen.

What HCG and how much? What PCT? HOw much How long?

My last cycle at age 58, I got a lot of water retention, leg swelling, skin bumps, and blood pressure. Of course I was doing 800 test and 500 deca per week; used HCG and arimidex but still got the symptoms.

So you see, I need a careful diagnosis of how to proceed. By the way, I have no health problems; pulse rate 60 and you can see it pulsing in my ankle.

I just need a cycle that will build mass, minimize estrogen, minimized lock-down and facilitate quick recovery. Is this Mission Impossible?
