How to increase flexibility at the waist

I'm not very flexible at my waist. When I'm doing straight leg deads, I can't go down all the way with my back in "power position"...as I get lower, my back starts to round. What can I do to increase how flexible I am at the waist? I get a good burn in my hammies doing the deads, but I feel like I'm not getting the full benefit without really getting deep. Thoughts?

sounds like a lack of flexibility in the hammies. get those as flexible as possible. squatting and deads will feel alot better.

Try working on stiff legged deadlifts as well.

Before you do legs or deads do some dynamic stretching, after training do static stretching ...but when you do the static, hold it and push against it....so that you are contracting against the stretch for 10 seconds, relax, go deeper, contracting against the stretch for another 10 seconds, relax, go deeper. This method will improve your flexiblity greatly.

Thats called proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation or PNF. .

Ok now I'll shut up, .

But what terraj said, otherwise known as PNF stretches are the fastest and most effective way on increasing your flexibility.
