    Bloodwork Bind

    Hi Guys,

I'm in a bit of a bind, I've been on Androgel (5g/day) for TRT for the past 4 months. After being treated for 3 months I had bloodwork done my doc seemed happy. I was at 310 ng/dL, a crappy value but he was happy and this was what I had to work with.

As a result I wanted to try out test prop (@ 50mg ed) and have been for a month. Now my doc wants another blood test. My question is how long should I wait before getting the blood test if I stop now? I would like to have my levels to be where they were a month ago.

I figure with the short half life of prop, levels should return to normal in a week? Am I off here?

    Thanks

This is more of a question than an answer, but if you want your doctor to prescribe more test isn't it possible to lower your test with a pro hormone?

The problem is it's a guessing game. You might be OK in a week, or maybe it will take a few weeks. Either way it's at your expense. Does it seem right to be doing business with a doctor that makes you walk the plank like this?

I'm tired about hearing when the doctor was happy. The first priority is to see that the patient is happy, then that's where the doctor should find his gratification. Like jpk basically said, that doc wouldn't be taking his few lousy pumps of AndroHell if he knew what 310 felt like.

Anways, take a couple shots of bourbon the night before the test, then do your BW first thing in the morning.

The problem with something like this is that you invite other nasty sides to the party, which includes the liver. If his doc runs a complete lipid panel the values could be jacked up, then his doctor will be doing all sorts of stupid shiat. The OP will be feel like crap and be taking a beating from his doc.

    Agreed

Anything that doesn't go in through a needle is inviting other problems.

Thanks for all of you replies guys. Ithink I'll wait out for 2 weeks just to be sure.
Unfotunately I'm on an HMO and switching to see a different doc would be difficult, not to mention I'd have to probably jump through the same hoops again.

Vette - I have thought about your suggestion but I think he's checking my liver values.
So no go on that. Maybe I'll "forget" to take a dose or two with my androgel and also get minimal sleep before my bloodwork to try to manipulate my score a bit. Who knows if they're low enough maybe I'll have some leverage to talk about other options?

leverage? your doc is happy with your score at 300 so is he gonna be happy when you get to 800? and if not what then... you have to manipulate it again when he wants to check you?

hmo or not...i suggest looking around

Yeah, jpkman is right. Your doc is doing what makes "him" happy, and not looking at you. Your leverage card will probably be discounted before it even leaves the deck! Just play the game with this guy the best you can til you can sort out another plan.

Maybe see if he can refer you to a Endo within the system. You might get the same old run-a-round, or maybe you'll get someone who really knows how to treat your issues.

Let us know how it turns out.
