I'm a 24 year old male who will be starting trt next week. My regular internist is going to be administering the trt, which is great considering I went to two endos who refused to help me. However, my internist only uses testosterone decanoate and transdermals to treat hypogonadism. Due to convenience, I rather use injections instead of a transdermal. Therefore, I'm left with testosterone decanoate.
I'm trying to figure out what the optimal protocol would be for trt with testosterone decanoate. Specifically, I have these questions:
1) Do I need an injection only once every two weeks since it has a longer half life? Or even more infrequent?
2) What would be an appropriate dose to get my levels to the upper quartile of the normal range? Is it the same as t ethanate: 100mg/wk?
3) Is front loading necessary with the decanoate ester?
His regular treatment plan is 200mg test decanoate a month, but he is far from knowledgeable concerning trt and that number seems awfully low. I'd rather not end up worse than I already am.
Thanks
