    Cheat days: how often?

    Hey

So I've come to the understanding that your body's metabolic rate adjusts in accordance to how much food you eat...

So I am wondering, lets say you have an intake of 2500cal - then how often would it be safe to cheat your diet?

Because I imagine if you were exercising daily and eating 2500cal, your body would adjust to the 2500cal intake... but if every once in a while you cheated on your diet and took in like 4000cal, your body would have to rev up its metabolism... and (i'm guessing) by revving up the metabolism it would help keep it at its max production

    That's the mindset of carb-cycling.
Nevertheless, I think it depends on your goals and your current program... If you're in a fat loss program, I think you should NEVER cheat on your diet. (And with more reason if you're planning to compete) But in the other hand, when trying to gain mass, one ocassional cheat meal won't hurt you. However, try to limit this ocations only when it's really worth it to get away from your goal (ex.family meeting, your friend's birthday, your aniversary, etc)

Agreed, if youre trying to lose weight or cut fat, DO NOT CHEAT. Its the best way to lose control, and one day ends up to be 2 a week and then its all downhill. But if youre gaining, nah man one day is fine, just do a little extra cardio, or even a nice walk after the meal, and youre fine having one a week
