    Cardio in the morning

I know that its wise to do cardio in the morning on an empty stomach but would it be a bad thing to have a fruit before the workout???

Yes, it would be a bad thing. If you feel you need something stick to a shot of protein.

By shot of protein do you mean a protein shake? Should the shake be mixed with water or milk or does it not matter? I really cant drink protein shakes with water...

Well, it would be better for doing empty stomach cardio with just water because i cup of milk has 12g of sugar which totaled is 13grams of carbs. It does have the added protein but you need at least 2 two 3 cups to mix a protein shake so with all those calories 270 cal (3 cups milk) you would have to work out 3 times as long and that totally goes against the idea of cardio on an empty stomach. IMO

Just buy another protein with zero or very low carbs, problem solved.

never do cardio on an empty stomach. it is muscle building suicide.
your body wont have any energy stores to use so it will be more than happy to tear down your muscle tissue for energy before it gets to the fat. you have to burn 3500 calories to burn one pound of fat, but surly by the time you get there you would have lost a crapload of muscle. cortisol levels are also highest in the morning.

when you do cardio its gotta be high intensity and not for that much of a long time because muscle will be scrapped. 15-20 minuits high intensity. will have a significant impact on your resting metabolism. so youll be burning more calories around the clock. and then at the end of the week all together you'll burn off that pound of fat, if everything is in order.

    hope that helps

Have a meat or eggs prepared already and throw it in the microwave and drink some water. That is what i do just to get something in my stomach in the morning.

It does not have to be a shake, just a source with little to no carbs.

When I am only doing 30 minutes, no, I get up and do it. I am precontest right now so I am currently at 50 minutes and will be at an even hour within 2 weeks. Because of the increased time and also doing cardio PWO I have started dropping a handfull of BCAA's before each session.

I agree, 10g of BCAA's before hand seems to do the body good!

I used to think the same thing...the taste was horrible no matter what brand I bought and could only tolerate it withice cold milk. I finally said screw it...it's fuel not food and chugged it with water and a ice. After a week, I didn't mind it at all. Give it a shot bro.
