    Shoulder Problem

My doctor isnt being helpful at all so Im looking to see if anyone here has had a similiar problem. About 2 months ago I injured my shoulder doing skull crushers, I was using heavy weight and forced out a cpl last reps and felt a dual pain in my shoulder. the rest of the day was fine, but when I woke up the next morning i could barely move my arm. went to the docs, said it was prob a tear or bad strain, gave me an xray(wont give me an mri for some reason?) and the xray didnt show anything. im at a point now where i can get through the day and do all normal activities, but i cant put much stress on the shoulder, still dnt have full range of motion, and i havent been able to train chest or shoulders in two months. even after going back to the doctor he still said to give it more time and that an mri isnt necessary cuz of the xray not showing anything. has anyone here had a similiar problem, how long was recovery? any feedback is appreciated.

ps i have read the shoulder sticky above, jus mentioning it cuz im sure a lot of ppl would point me to it

I know how you feel bud,

I have had three op's on my left shoulder and know how hard it can be to stay positive and even harder to get the doc's to listen to you.

CT scans are the next best thing to MRI scans but doctors seem to be more will to get these done than MRI scans. They can show a lot of info when done right so you could try pushing your doc for one of these.

Are you doing physio? If not I would suggest doing this on a daily basis and leave off the weights or you could end up doing even more damage as the shoulder tissues could be getting inflamed and putting more pressure on the muscles and ligaments.

And as you are not sure (thanks to your doc) as to what damage, if any, you have done I would keep to strict physio and see what happens.

Just my opinion based on my shoulder problems,

Well I've been doing a couple of the excercises listed on the forum, but I haven't been to a physio therapist. What was the diagnosis on your shoulder? Have you recovered yet?

Sorry, been away for a few days.

My shoulder still gives me pain from time to time but after three ops its to be expected. I dislocated it about 8 years ago and needed an open bankart repair that work very well and I got myself up to 13st 10lbs of lean muscal (which is my natural limit).

But I started having bad pain a couple years later and the sugeon wanted to do the same op but I felt it was a differnt pain. long story short I trusted what he said in the end and went ahead with the op but he was wrong and I actually needed a sub acromial decompression due to a bone spur. So I really am not happy with him!

You should only need to see a physio once and they'll give you lots of excersies for your shoulder and then just stick with them (it will take a long time to see improvement) plus the phsyio may give you a better picture to whats going on with your shoulder.

There is always good videos on youtube and other sites that can give you an idea of what exercises to do.
