I have arthritis in my shoulder

I am 25 years old, Have had surgery to repair a torn labrium and scar tissue and fractured my scapula which has been the cause of my arthritis according to the doc. She says its Osteoarthritis and really no way to reverse it. She said I have the shoulder of a 60 year old man and should change my workouts completely. I have been training MMA for about 6 years after my college football career has ended via the fractured scapula and hit the weights about 3-4 times a week. I have been doing the same football and Olympic lifts i have always done but the doc says any lift where there is a press involved or weight resting on the shoulders is bad " any kind of chest press, shoulder press, squats and clings". My question is what the hell am I supposed to do if my main lifts shouldnt be done, she also said to give up MMA since there is a ton of stress put on the shoulder from grappling. any suggestions would be great and sorry for the extremely long post.

That really sucks but you want to know what, most of theses fukk face are wrong. i have injured my lower back due to squatting and deadlifting. I cannot do them anymore.

I got some x rays and showed clearly no arthritis in my lower back yet 3 sport doctor told me i add it......

Theses doctors are always on the side of conscious and will tell you the worst case scenario.

That goes for chiros, and all the rest of the so called experts. On of my friends ripped a ligament from is forearm once and got operated, the medical doctor told him he will never lift a weight again in is life, 6 months later he was doing chin ups with an 80 pound db attached to is waist.

My advise seek another opinion and see what you might be able to take maybe fish oil, glucosamine and collagen, you might not be able to reverse the situation but you might be able to make it better, also look into prolotherapy, PST pulse signal therapy, both can rebuild cartilage, also GUNA is a new product that is combined with prolotherapy that treats Italian athletes, this as also been known to rebuild cartilage.

How do you feel when you train MMA, i have plans to get into MMA as soon as my back pain is gone, sure i have changed the way i train big lifts are history of the past but who care, look into P90X and get a slimmer look, i don't lift heavy anymore and my arms are still 17 inches, its all about diet.

Good luck to you and hope you find a therapy that will work for you.

I recommend this for ALL shoulder injuries. It has helped mine a LOT and I only do it 1/10 as much as I should.
