Its kind of stupid to measure chicken by oz isn't it?

I keep seeing over and over everywhere 6 oz or 4 oz etc.

This doesn't make sense to me because you take a cup of chopped up chicken guess what there are gaps and spaces etc you aren't getting an accurate measurement.

Wouldn't it be more logical to use grams?

You measure your food on a food scale which measures weight not volume so it doesnt matter. I personally use grams for all my calcs but either works fine.

I use a scale all the time. THe only time I use measuring cups is for liquids, rice, or oats.

I learned years ago when I attended culinary school - do NOT confuse liquid measurement with weight! 1 cup or 8 fluid oz. is NOT equal to 8oz in weight of a solid food.

Measuring in grams or oz. on a food scale is the exact same thing, just a different system.

4 oz of chicken (or anything solid) weighs 113 grams. Volume doesn't matter. Are you using a dry measuring cup for measuring solid food?
