    Smile Katch-Mc Ardle formula vs Harris Benedict formula

    Hi guys;

    Does somebody has experience using Katch- Mc Ardle formula instead of Harris Benedict formula? I was working several weeks in my bulking diet based in Harris B. formula, then I posted it and I received helpful advices. I tried to follow it but it is REALLY HARD!!! for me. I need to eat so much, just I can not.
    Two days ago I read here a post about how inaccurate is harris formula.
    I do not know if i need to work in a new diet based in Katck- Mc Ardle formula?
    I will appreciate your helpful advices.

    Katch McArdle is considered more accurate because it calculates the numbers based on your lean body mass. Of course, to know your LBM, you will need to know your BF%. So, if you don't already know, get a caliper reading done, then you can calculate your LBM, and finally use the Katch McArdle formula to calculate TDEE and/or your caloric needs based on your goal.

    Thanks for your answer.
    I ordered a body fat analizer 2 days ago on internet. I will have to work again in a new diet.

    No problem. What did you order - is it one of those body composition scales?

    I ordered the Omron HBF-306C for $ 30.00. Tanita scales are more accurate but they are over $ 200.

    I also ordered an Omron - different model, but it was like $80. Be careful with those - I know they're supposed to be fairly accurate, but mine is telling me i'm 20% bodyfat which is way off. Caliper reading at my gym put me at 13%. I can deal with a couple of points of discrepancy, but not 7%.
