    Grocery list on college budget

I can't work as much as i'd like during college so my budget is going to be pretty constricted this next coming year. I'll have about $300 a month left over after expenses. Is this stretching it too much? I don't mind oatmeal or no variety for every meal, its just that cheap protein is still a huge part of my bill. Should I consider replacing a meal with a casein shake as they are cheaper than meat? What do you recommend that is as economical as possible for the protein it provides and what prices per lb should I look for? So far my list contains:

-canned tuna fish (its a steal an a sale so i can stock up but I gotta limit myself to 1 can a day for the mercury levels)
    -oatmeal
    -condensed or powdered egg whites
    -milk
    -natural valley chilli

chicken breast, mince beef, flank steak, cottage cheese, peanut butter, wm bread,

add a few shakes a day if ur on a budget, whey, milk, cottage cheese, peanutbutter, oats makes for a killer shake.

make up a big beef chili con carney with beans spice and chopped tomatoes to last you the week,

find a local butcher and talk him round to do u a good deal if u buy all ur meat off him in one go.

no mater what budget, you can still meet ur macros sum how

Sale shopping, and buying a ton during it really will save to an amazing amount in the long run. I found large eggs on sale for $0.60 a dozen, they're usually around $1.25, so I bought 17 dozen.... So I saved what, $7.15? Also, buying things that are "convenient" is NEVER cheap, canned tuna (in my area at least) grams protein VS price per gram, is not cheap at all. If you don't already look at the unit prices on things you have to start.

I don't know how prices are where you live, or what shopping options you have, but $300 a month I could make last for two months during summer. (not including my vitamins and amino acid supplements though)

Here is how it breaks down for bang for the buck protein wise. I know I am missing a lot but that is what I eat.

    EAS Powder--------$30.00 - 1771 gram = .017
    Steak -------------$3.00 - 122 gram = .024
    Chicken breast --- $3.00 - 112 gram = .026
    Eggs ------------- $4.00 - 144 gram = .027
    Cheese ---------- $11.00 - 384 gram = .029
    Turkey Lunchmeat - $7.00 - 144 gram = .048
    Bologna ---------- $5.00 - 96 gram = .052
    Perdue shrt cuts - $3.50 - 63 gram = .055
    EAS RTD -----------$2.50 - 42 gram = .059

I don't eat fish so I have no idea how it figures in but it is not that hard to figure out.

Can't go wrong with steak and chicken breast.
