Deca dosing to alleviate joint pain only

My dad is 48 and is just started test at 500mg each week. Back in the 80's he was a competing bb'er and he said that his steroid of choice had always been deca. He only used for 4 years. Today (and for about the past 10 years) he has had joint pain in his right knee and shoulder. I told him that I had read deca is generally used to alleviate joint pain and he is very interested in using some just for that purpose.

I see that 300mg per week is a standard for anabolic purposes, but what about just to help his joints? For women Ive read they take 50mg a week to prevent osteoporosis, so I am thinking maybe 150 a week for my old man.

BTW he is 5'10" and somewhere around 275-300lbs, not lean by any means, but stout as an ox (curls 135 on any random day for reps).

Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Never result to Steroids for a simply fix such a joint issues. Steroids carry just as much side effects as they do positive. There are better alternatives:

Adequan, Aprotinin, Cynatine, Glucosamine/Chondroitin, Hyaluronic Acid, Cissus Quadrangularis, Long R3-IGF-1 <-- my choice personally.

I agree and understand, (currently takes glucosamine, hyaluronic acid) but my dad has the deca in hand and is asking me to research the internet (lol, cause he can barely start a pc up) and find out a dosing. If I can't find a specific number he is just going to run it at 300 each week.. figure if I can help save him some money by being able to recommend a smaller dosage that will still aid his joint issues, all the better. For his size, I'm starting to think 300 will be about right for him, please advise though if a more moderate dosing would be acceptable.

I suppose I could tell him to start out at 150 and just monitor how he feels bumping it if necessary. Still curious though.
    Thanks

Yes at 300 mg per week he will feel better. Tell him to get on a good diet. That would also help. 300 lbs at his height is too much for knees.

He will also probably have to do extra pct to counter the deca at his age.

    PS Diet!!

Start lower. People use that in cycle to bulk. At your dads given stats, that much Deca leaves a risk of higher side effects. Start lower, or go with a much safer alternative as listed above.

I sympathize with your dad's issue.

There is this stuff at GNC / Vitamin Shoppe called Cissus Quandrularus like $40 or $50 a box. I have had two people tell me its stellar for helping with joint discomfort. Never tried myself couldn't justify the price for an OTC that high at my age.

I spent a couple of hours reading about Adequan. I recommend reading up on it. Some people's testimonies have made it sound like a miracle drug. [rant] I hate how we don't get to live the highest quality of life possible just because pharmaceuticals are so controlled [/endrant]

i would rather take an alternative because that can impede you from being able to take tren, for those who plan on using it .
