Apply that to tennis and Rugby as well. F 1 is about the only sport we have pretty good success in. For everything else, we're wimps, that is all that is to be said about it.

the world is a more singular place these days.

Theres more exposure across the world..... it doesn't matter anymore where a sport was invented..... theres talent EVERYWHERE and as long as said talen has access to coaching and the right tools..... they'll develop

The wolf at the top of the mountain is not as hungry as the one climbing.
Just a guess, maybe being the top for those many years have taken the hunger out of the mentality to strive???
Their reason for poor results in football though I think is a result of too much public pressure to suceed. Their press are ruthless. Also as I have said before their ego's are too big.

back in the day we had the chance, when we had players like beckam, there was more passion and gritty determination to win the game, nowadays footballers just care about how much ££££ they got in there back pocket, if they lose they dont give a ****, there still millionaires !!!
