    Looking for advice and Help

    Hi guys,

First of all I know a lot of young guys have hard a lot of flaming gone there away and mostly justified due to their silly decisions so bare with me here.

I’m currently 20years old, 150lb, 6Ft. I’m currently going the gym 5 days a week running Mon, Tue, wed, Fri, sat Taking Thurs and Sun off. The gym I’m at has a lot of people who from what I can tell are taking Anadrol and this does not interest me at the moment. I’m hoping to get to about 170lbs and gain some size as I’ve always been a small guy and had problems gaining weight.

I’m currently unemployed so getting Whey gainers, creatine ect ect is hard due to lack of funds and I’m currently paying £30 a month for my gym membership and £40 for my Muay Thai training.

I’m also lacking on my diet but doing what I can to get as much into my body as possible in my situation. It looks a little like this.

    Breakfasts
    5 Wheatabix with whole milk
    1 pint of water

    Lunch
    2 Tins of Tuna
    3-4 Handfulls of pasts
    Sweetcorn
    Ham
3 Scoops of Full fat mayonnaise
    Cucumber
Basically a form of tuna Salad

    Dinner
    3-4 handfulls of pasta
Chicken, Tuna, mince - One of these
    Tomato puree
    Wholemeal Bread

I understand this is not the best diet in the world and could do with a whole bunch of changes but not having a job is really hindering what I can afford in the current climate.

My workout consits of a full body workout advised by one of the guys in the gym I’m currently training at, He claims that it should give me a base to start on in order for me to move into different lifts and focused training, after the first 2months I’ve stopped feeling aches in my muscles. I’m also trying to keep my Cardio to a minimum as I do muay Thai 3 nights a week and cardio again I have been told will hinder my gains.

I have been told by numerous people in the gym to take a 4 week course of the tablets to give me the head start/boost to get going in the gym as I am 110% serious about carrying this on for years to come, but frankly from the research I’ve done into side effects and some of the threads I have read on this forum it scares me and I don’t think I’m at all close to begin looking at steroids.

Basically I’m posting this up as I’m heading into the army in January and don’t want to be the small guy in there, I’m also beginning my muay Thai fights in September and with my current size I feel a bit intimidated and small in comparison to people I’m fighting and around. I hope to get some advice on workouts, supplements, diet changes and comments on the advice I have received about tablets.

Sorry for the long post, I’m not an immature individual and please don’t see this as another waste of time and effort. I want the comments so I can do what’s best for me, I’m not a summer gainer and don’t want to risk f****G myself up for life for a quick fix.

PS. Any other information and pictures that may help let me know and I’ll get it posted ASAP.

    Kind Regards
    Phill

Well, you already said it, your diet is the problem. You can't eat 3 measly meals a day and expect to gain weight.

And you know that 20 years old is just way too young.

On top of that, if you're going into the army the last thing you should be concerned with is gaining mass. You're just going to run your ass off and loose it when you go in. So if you want to be prepared for that, start running, doing push ups, pull ups, etc.

Thank you for your quick response, Ye i know im not eating as much as much as i should but as i said buying 7 Full chickens a week an such is a quite expensive, is there any cheap replacements for such things to improve my diet?

Also ive been training for the army for 1 year now so the fitness sector of things isnt a problem and my muay thai helps alot with the running, pushup's and over all fitness and endurance.

The muscle mass and size is what im intrested in, i dont want to be huge but i want to have some size and build to my psyique.

You should be eating some form of protein with every meal.

You should break up your eating times into 5 or 6 meals a day.

You should be working out your lower body about 50% of the time, focusing on squats for raw power.

You should go to the diet sections here and spend a few hours reading so you can learn how to change your diet. It doesn't have to be expensive. for example, I buy bulk rolled oats and have that for breakfast, as one of the things I eat in the early morn.

Having been in the army myself, the gentleman above me that said you are going to run your ass off is right. I would't dwell on the bulk thing for now... concentrate on your lower body, and make sure your legs are like iron, and you will begin to notice the rest of your body beginning to follow.

    Good luck in the army!

Take in all the protein you can afford. When you get into the army, eat everything in site that they will provide.

Keep studying your diet and how your body responds.

Take it slow brother, body building is a life style not something people just do for a few months. So gain as much knowledge as you can and never be too ignorant to take advice.

    Good Luck!
