After reading all the stickied threads and trying to educate myself on the subject, I'm a little confused at my doctor's plan of attack.
I'm 36 years old, had several symptoms of low T so I brought it up to my PCP during my physical. BW results showed low total (354 ng/dL) but that was the limit of their testing ability -- no E2, free test or other markers measured, also he felt that as long as the total was in the reference range it was okay.
Went to another PCP that a friend recommended who comes across more well read on current studies and willing to pull more comprehensive panels. The BW results came back and I'm waiting to see the actual numbers. (I expect to receive the full test numbers via mail in a couple days)
This 2nd doctor agreed my T was low and said my "estrogen levels" were normal. He offered to provide Test C shots in office to "jumpstart" my natural production, but nothing else (AI, hcg) and even these shots were to be a temporary monthly thing.
From reading the other posts, this seems like I will be on a roller coaster from these irregular shots and may end up lower than before. Also, I didn't think providing exogenous test would restart test production and in fact would be quite the opposite. Is this a correct assumption, or is this a normal first step of the troubleshooting when you actually find a "good doctor"?
