    Exclamation Tuna

I've been eating alot of Tuna. 2 cans a day probably 5 days a week.

Am I killing my self with all this mercury? Or is that over hyped?

The lining of the GI tract (mucousa) will protect you from mercury entering your system through ingestion. But if you decide to start wearing tuna on your skin you might be in trouble.

    Check this out: http://www.villagevoice.com/2006-01-...-fish-baloney/
It references this site as well which is pretty cool:
    http://www.mercuryfacts.org/

Any research depends on funding, funding depends on outcome and the FDA is paranoid.
Take all that into account and come up with a safe number for you.
I personally would eat 5 cans a week and not worry.

thats true for elemental mercury, but organic mercury is easily absorbed by the GI tract, and thats the one that is present in deep sea fish.

Every two to three years, I undergo (self administered, of course) a six month NAC cycle to rid myself of that and other heavy metals. Look up NAC. It is the only oral chelater that can do what I just described.

Thanks for the replies, and references Gents. I appreciate it.

The convenience of the can is great, gonna switch it up a bit with some chicken breast [canned]. (gonna wash it to hopefully remove a lil bit of sodium)

However I wont completely remove Tuna from my diet ..

Times I will check that NAC out.. Thank you.
