Arrow Need help with losing muscle for a mma fight? im 191lbs need to be 170lbs

I know this might sound weird that i want to lose muscle but im 5"9 191lbs and im really cut up right now but i need to get down to 170lbs for my fight in oct!It would be alot easier for me to get to that weight if i lose some muscle, just having a hard time doing it! I train 6days a week doing MMA at American top team in coconut creek fl! I dont lift weights as much and do lots of cardio and other things to keep my heart rate at around 180! My diet is very clean and i try to eat every 2-3hr no later! If anyone can help me that would be great! Thanks!!

Moderate protein, low carb, low fat. Eat below tdee by like 800 cals and do 2 cardio sessions daily. One LIT in the AM on an empty stomach, one HIT PWO. Focus on conditioning workouts like push-up suicide sprints and weighted jump-rope. Do full-body WO twice per week. I have a client who's a fighter in the same boat. I can PM you the program in detail if interested but judging by your avi, i'd say you have your workout in check.

Just eat less cals via protein and fat come to think of it. With that schedule, you'll need all the carbs you can get.

seriously though, when i did boxing and had to lose a few extra pounds i would do hour long sweat runs every morning on a an empty stomache, i would wear like three hoodies and two pairs of trousers and the water would drain out of me, sometimes it was the only way i could get my weight down !!! but after the weigh in and just before the fight ide have a good drink of water and some sugary snacks, it always worked at bringing me up just before a fight....

This post is discouraging on sooo many levels.

And the picture does not help either.

Man I used to fight also. 21lbs of water starting two days before weigh ins isn't undoable. It's going to suck but plastics in a sauna works. I know it's torture dude but it will work. It is totally unhealthy but if it works do it. The fight has to be worth that. You train at American Top Team, ask those guys. They have all been doing it for years. Water and gatorade immediatly after weigh in and carb back up. A lot of ufc guys cut that much water look at tiago silva.

coconut creek? i don't live too far from there. it already sounds like you're doing a ton of training and cardio, so that's not the issue. you're gonna have to tweak your diet. figure out your maintenance cals, while taking into consideration what you're burning in your training sessions each day. if you want to lose 20lbs in 10 weeks, you're gonna have to consume about 1,000 calories UNDER maintenance every day. cut the cals, and you'll be fine.

2.5 years ago I was 195 and cut to 170 to fight and at 5'6" I was still in the wrong class it was hell and i sure I did not do it correctly as I just starved myself down. this has been an interesting read although I wont do it again cause its to damn hard to put back on.
