It is still dependent on your goals.
AAS doesnt decide your diet. You should be following it year round. If you are cutting off of AAS then a lot of cheat meals isnt good. If you are bulking and dont mind it being less than clean then cheat meals are fine. But it all comes down to your goals.
I'm dieting to gain size, a while from competing... I dint cheat any day during the week, 100% clean and strict... But my trainers told me to have one full day off on Saturday (none training day) and that's it.
It's good because I look forward to that day and I focus really hard until then...
What are your thoughts?
Well i like it because if you have the discipline to diet strict then it can keep you disciplined to train. But your body needs that break. It makes you feel better and its something to look forward to. It is motivation to work for your goals.
That being said i wouldnt start doing it 3-4 times a week because then that strive for that day will be gone
Yeh that's very true! Nah I just keep it at the one day and I really look forward to it! But just wanted to see what other people do...
Anyone else?
Bump anyone else?
I have learnt over time that the best way to look good, gain weight and not put on too much fat is to gain slowly and minimise cheating.
Now a days i have only 1 cheat meal per week, usually on a friday night, here i eat whatever i want, i still make sure i hit required macros but if i go over, oh well!
However if i feel shit or down and fed up with eating chicken and rice i will bang a cheat meal in there.
If its not a planned cheat meal I will try to adjust macros in other meals to balance it out.
eg.. if I have a random cheal meal of 4 x toast with nutella and a pint of milk, i know thats a high fat / carb meal, i will then reduce carbs and fats if i can in other meals.
