    Hit a vein...

Hey guys, wondering if anyone has any experience or advice.

Someone was giving me a shot in the delt and I felt something pinched, and when he aspirated a tiny drop of blood or two came out. So he pulled out and no blood squirted or anything. I then took the injection elsewhere (like 2 inches away), I drained out the blood from the syringe (it was a drop or so). I feel fine, no dizziness or nasue or anything...did i follow the right procedures here?

First time it ever happened...little freaked out/paranoid is all, thanks!

Its fine. You nicked a vein. No harm.

You technically dont even need to get the blood out. I inject it as normal blood and all

Did you switch over to a different needle after the first failed injection?

I've done similar, no ill effects. Good idea to switch needles, if you have a supply of them.

Well i would hope you have enough needles to be able to change it. If not you are running lots of risks. Needles are cheap.

I would hope in a situation like this that someone would have the sense to not put a foreign object that has already pierced the body back in again. It is unsanitary and unsafe. The needle is also dulled which is a cause for more discomfort

no worries bro, but as stated above, change out the needle, they are like $0.09ea, not worth infection or the slight pain of a dull egde. Dont worry about the blood in there, its yours anyways, you will just lose some gear if you try and push it out.

thanks guys. I should have changed the needle, didn't even think about it or feel a need to. Makes sense to change them now, I do indeed have a ton so its no problem at all (safety first). I must of been panicking a bit too much.

Anyway, the second shot went in smooth as butter no complaints. Its the next day and I have no bruises or anything, or any signs of an infection (knock on wood). I feel great, had a kick ass workout today. Thanks for the responses
