    Body Fat Calipers (continued)

My body fat calipers arrived in the mail today. I watched several Youtube videos demonstrating how to pinch and measure the three areas, add em up, and do this three time, then take the average. 14% BF. I'm a little skeptical. In all three areas that I measure, chest, abdomen and thigh, the skin is real tight and really not much to pinch except for a little bit of skin. The exception is the thigh, and I was able to pinch twice as much as the other two places. Why am I skeptical? because I still have these pesky little love handles, and my chest looks like it may have a touch of gyno... either that or it is a fat pocket, not sure which. Other than that fairly lean.
Could this be an operator error since I'm checking myself? How hard is it to check oneself in these three areas.

btw... don't go for the cheap plastic set. Mine broke after only one week, which I've used maybe three times.

Post a pic and we can confirm it. BUt its much harder to do it yourself. Some points will be skewed due to you holding the calipers without the area being relaxed. Get someone else to do it for you and check it again

You need to be doing much more than 3 sites to get an accurate indication. This should help.

thanks mate! very helpful. I've bookmarked this thread to assist my learning process. My main prob is testing solo. I'm thinking I need to get my woman involved. One thing is for sure... when I'm done, red marks all over my body!
