Thread: unsure of my workout

    unsure of my workout

    age 22 height 5'9 training 1 year body fat: never have taken my body fat but im chubby lol. currently this is my workout routine. day1 shoulders and arms (i include traps bicep and tricep) day2: legs day3: chest and back. i do 4 sets of 15 for mostly everything. my goal is to burn fat. ill be honest i have been slacking on my cardio. this workout routine i got from one of the trainers at my gym. my question is, is this a good workout routine to burn fat? what would you guys recommend?

    oh i forgot to mention i keep my diet on point i cheat once in a blue moon im very strict on my diet.... i started at 230lbs now i im at around 198 to 200.

    First two steps to burning fat are diet and cardio.

    So don't slack on the diet (feel free to make a thread in the diet forum) and don't slack on the cardio either. It's what you'll have to do if you want to get lean.

    It's not a terrible split, but as you get more advanced you'll need to take more time off between training days: especially as you start lifting heavier weights.

    Your CNS system needs to rest as much as your muscles.

    I think the high rep approach is appropriate given your goals, but as D7M said - diet and cardio are key to burning fat. Your workout should never be considered part of your fat burning process, even if you do happen to burn some fat while weight training.
