    wrist pain during pushups

I've had issues with my wrists for a long time. My wrists have always been small (I can easily wrap my other hand around my wrists and touch my thumb to my middle finger with room to spare).

Usually it's not too big of a deal, as I just avoid doing pushups on my palms, but I've been applying for some jobs that have PT requirements that include pushups throughout their academies and I'm trying to find a way to hopefully remedy the situation.

Is there anything I can do to strengthen my wrists so that pushing off from my palms repeatedly doesn't cause pain? I actually really hurt one of my wrists a few years back during a CPR class where I was performing chest compressions for about 10 minutes straight. I could barely move my wrist for a couple months after that.

I've had the same problem in the past. I used to tightly wrap my wrist and work through the pain. Not that that's the smart thing to do.. but eventually it went away.. Haven't had problems with the wrist at all after -- I also just have weak wrists.. !

What I did to strengthen them is start using a good hand gripper.

    The best ^^

    Stretching helps as well. IMO
