    Real or not

Ok, so here's the deal. Im 42, 220 pounds about 15% bodyfat and I'm six feet tall. I have been running Deca 400mg and Test Cyp 500mg every 3 days. I'm on week 6 now. My diet is in check. I have gained 12 pounds, and I have gotten bigger, but I just have not gotten the massive strength gains that are supposed to be associated with Test. I have posted my concerns before and most people said that about now is when I should start seeing results. How can I tell is the stuff I got is legit?? I mean I took Spawn before it was banned, and I got better strength gains from that!! That can't be a good thing. I have a little acne, but nothing major, and I have noticied increased libido, but I have not exibited any anger problems. You advice/input is greatly appreciated.

Gaining 12 lbs in 6 weeks sounds very good, surely you must be stronger but so what if your strength isnt what you thought it would be at least your gaining muscle.

    whats your training routine like?

    diet?

My training routine is each bodypart one time a week. I go as heavy as I can for 6-8 reps of each excerise. I do 3-4 sets per exercise and do 3-4 different exercises per body part. I have been on the diet forum and my diet is good proper protein/carbs/calories for my age/bodyweight, etc. I have noticied strength gains in other areas, just not my bench. This is my first cycle, and I always thought AAS gave amazingly results. Maybe I was expecting too much. I kinda feel like I wasted a lot of money.

The title of this thread is 'real or not' -- to which I would reply: If you gained 12 lbs in 6 weeks, it's probably real.

FWIW, you're taking a LOT of Deca, which is a compound not really known for promoting dramatic strength increases. How much did your lifts go up, and how much were you expecting them to? Perhaps you set your expectations too high?

In any case, if increasing strength were my primary goal -- I wouldn't run a test/deca cycle.

If this is your first cycle you shouldnt be running deca you should have test only, this is a good starting base to work off, taking two compounds when you dont know how you react isnt a wise thing to do.

The results your getting is how you respond to a cycle, if you want better gains you need to work on your diet, food is the key to building more muslce and strength. Again i must say you have gained 12lbs which is great for 6 wks, if you want more strength push harder in the gym and adjust your diet.

Thanks. I ran Deca/Test, because that is what my buddy got me. I didn't have any contacts, so I ran what he got me and the way he told me to run it.

Increase your rep range to 8-12. I was never able to see the strength gains everyone promised from working in the 6-8 rep range. 10-12 is the magic number for me. Also, are you doing any heavy pyramids? Those build strength very quickly.

Also, what were your goals? If you planned to gain 100lbs on your bench you might be overreaching. Make sure your goals are reasonable before knocking your gear. I have to say that if you gained 12 lbs in 6 weeks the gear isn't bunk.

I will try changing my reps to 8-12. I will do some research on heavy pyramids and try those also. I didn't have unrealistic goals for my bench. Heck I would have been happy with a 20 pound increase on my bench. My bench has not gone up any!! What is strange is that my bench went up about 20 pounds when I took Spawn back before it was banned. But I must admit that I have seen strength in other body parts. Maybe bench just isn't my thing. Thanks for the advice.
