best place to go in South America

I want to plan a trip to South America in January, but I'm not exactly sure where I want to go exactly. My thoughts so far are Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, and Lima, but I'm open for all suggestions. Anyone here been to South America with reviews?

Here's what I'm looking for (but not all are needed):

1. by the sea
2. good night life
3. exotic
4. good scenery
5. hot women

South American here that seeks just what you do.

I recommend moving around South America as staying too long at 1 place will make things boring judging by the things you're looking for. Coach fares are really cheap in here but don't expect anything even close to confortable. (i had to travel in a bus with live chickens next to me for hours in my trip to Peru-Ecuador).

On january i landed in Lima, Peru. The city is nice, the parties are good and the women are hot IF you know where to party. Then we took a bus to Mancora, Peru. Nice beaches, kinda good nightlife. Then a bus to Montañita, Ecuador = Crazy nightlife in the streets, hot women from everywhere and all that (don't stay in this town for more than 4 days, your body just won't take it). Then Baños, Ecuador = mostly extreme sports, jungle, scenery but no parties. It was one great trip.

Have a safe trip, don't EVER eat in the streets (chances that you get intoxicated are VERY HIGH) and be careful, most south american cities have high crime but you can stay safe if you are careful.

Thanks for the replies! I've been researching a bit on Ecuador, and it sounds really nice. Livingwithdoms-why do you recommend Brazil? I've heard mixed reviews.

Everyone I know who has been to Brazil says it's OK but nothing like 20 years ago and you have to be VERY careful now. I would not venture off the public beach or the main hot spots or it might be the last thing you do. No exaggerated but I guess tourist are killed there very frequently but we never hear about it. Even going one or two blocks away from beaches can mean big trouble.

Peru sounds like it would be fun but my first choice the last 4 years has been Asian countries, mainly Thailand.

Brazil all the way!!! As an american down there the hotties will be all up on you. My wife is Brazilian, they are extremely friendly people, way more open sexually than the usa, and by far the woman have the best asses in the world.

Study up on a little Portuguese, the women will appreciate it that ur trying to say a few things to them in their language.

I have 2 condo's in Brazil, it's paradise (albeit some dangerous places), one a 5 min walk from a gorgeous beach. Price 4 yrs ago? 34K. The same condo in miami would go for 500K

I'll tell u what, depending on where u live, u can sample a little Brazilian night life at a brazilian night club here in the states. Go dance and mingle with the chicks, but it's nothing like in Brazil where u are the prey and the hot chicks are the predators lol
