Do you feel that you will never be satisfied with your body?

I'm 43 and just recently got into working out. Genetically I have a lot of potential for sure. And since I am adding steroids into the mix it is speeding up the process of adding muscle to my body. But I look NO WHERE NEAR having a well defined all around muscular physique the way some of you guys do here.

I have a picture in my mind of what I would like to look like, but today coming home from the gym right now I started wondering.... will I ever be truely satisfied with my body... even if I get a body that could be displayed on some sort of mag, not a bb one where the dudes are huge, but a body that chicks drool over. I wonder if I will be satisfied even if I get there, and i'm putting in the work and am on my way (with a hell of a long way to go).

I'm curious about u guys who have been in the game for years, maybe maxed out your natty potential and even got bigger on steroids, or guys who had goal x of where they wanted there body to be but then when they got close they rose the bar to pack on more muscle. Is this kind of thing common the way some chicks will have like 2 oz of fat on the love handle area and whine about it and want to get it lipo'ed even though they are friggin hot as hell?

IMO, it's a good thing to never be satisfied. Especially in health and fitness but also in many other subjects. I'm never content, and always hungry. If this were the opposite, then what? I'd have nothing to aim for, no goals, nothing. I'd probably be bored out of my mind if everything in my life were truly satisfied to meet my goals.

My goals are always changing, which is a huge contributor in the fact that I'm always never satisfied.

That makes a lot of sense HP, good way to live one's life. Thanks for the reminder!

But let me pick at u a bit on this specifically if u don't mind, I like u and get a lot out of your posts so hope ur not offended by me asking: Say you had a general goal of being 280lbs and under 10% bf. Do you think if u reached that you would want to be 300lbs, then 320lbs or do you think u would slow down in the growth area as a goal some and focus ur mind towards different (but maybe closely connected) goals?

IMO, the second you become satisifed, you get lazy, and more than likely start slacking off. Thats how it is with me honestly, I get to a point where im at a heavy weight I like with a small waist and I like how I look in the mirror and then BAM... I start skipping days in the gym, eating fast food, stop supplements, ect. You could say ive been IN shape 7 different times if that makes sense. I get in shape then slack off and Im out ect, ect. Its good to never like how you look (to a point) so you never slack or give up.

    awwww thanks hun

I'm never satisfied..... I initially wanted to be 200..... then 220.... then 240. Now i'm almost 250 and i'm looking at 280. I'd love to say that i'll be happy at 280 at 10-12% BF but who knows anymore. I'll see once I get there.....

I just posted on that other thread about morals and if ok to kick asss as retribution (and for money), so my mind seems to still be there when I post here... (sorry)

but I guess never being satisfied (in general) means never being happy? I don't know. These injuries I've had lately has made me think. when I was younger, i would push myself 110% with the weights, and life was good. but now, I have to learn to only push 90% (to avoid injury) and be happy with that. Which means, realistically, that 240 is maybe as high as I should go, which means i only have maybe 5 or 10 lbs left to gain. I need to be happy with that. I'm knocking at 49 next month, and with a life time of injuries, I need to have a more balanced approach.

    Here's a real goal I will never seen .
Symmetrical right and left side .
As much as I diet , workout and do cardio . My right and left side look different . Shoulders, traps and pecs .

I guess I will dress up as hunch back of notre dane for halloween .

I think that the ideal attitude is to be happy with the progress one has made, yet at the same time not satisfied with remaining at the status quo, if that makes sense. I think that by never being happy with, or appreciating one's appearance, skills, abilities etc., we detract from our self esteem and overall joy in life. On the contrary though it is best not to become complacent and to always strive to better one's self and to achieve more.

I'll never be happy. It's annoying to be not where I want to be but it will be a long time in the making.
