    Popcorn: Good for you?

I'm on a cutting diet. Yesterday I went to the movies and had a bag of popcorn (without butter)

Is that ok? Popcorn is basically moderate amounts of carbs right? Also, is it complex carbs or simple carbs?

    Thanks!

Well I like it so it must be bad for you!

Actually I think as long as it is unbuttered, it's not too bad. Lower in calories than most snacks, I think it's something like 30cal per cup of unbuttered air popped.

Not too bad, id say it was simple considering that it has exploded up into a ball im sure the body can digest it verry quickly

however there is not much to it so not too bad IMO better than ice cream or pop

coulda been worse. Not sure how quickly the carbs digest once popped, as compared to a slow digesting whole fiber food like rolled oats.

Movie theater buttered popcorn = 1500 calories per 1 cup

Movie theater un-buttered popcorn = 50 calories per 1 cup

thus melted butter 1450 calories per 1 cup = blissful sleep and personally lubricated internal and external organs, right??? I'll take mine straight and not have kernals in my teeth!

I think popcorn are simple carbs, which isn't good compared to whole oats for example. But I don't think there are many carbs in popcorn to begin with.
