Gran Turismo 5 delayed....AGAIN!

After having the November 2nd release date seemingly set in stone the developers have delayed it again! WTF!? They have said now that it will finally hit store shelves "sometime this holiday season".

Honestly, at this point anything less than near perfection will be a disappointment and thats probably what the developers are thinking as well. This might not necessarily be such a bad thing. With so many games that get released half assed and knowingly full of bugs and issues just to make a quick buck its good to see a developing team taking pride in their work to create the best game possible for us. What do you guys think?

Son of a bitch...my girlfriend will be more than pleased to hear this news. I'm upset, but I had a feeling this was going to happen. I totally expected it, as this has become the norm with this title. It just stings a little more to read that it's really being delayed...............again.

November 3rd came and went without a Gran Turismo 5 game to play, so as you'd imagine this gorgeous Titanium Blue PS3 launch bundle also failed to see the light of day. However, now that we've got a totally plausible and twice-confirmed November 24th release date for the little uber-realistic racer that could, it's probably fair to take Sony Japan at its word that we'll see the commemorating console appear without further delay. Tell your Japanese importer to line up on November 25th if you want one with your name on it, and be sure to hand him at least ¥35,980 (about $436) of your rainy day fund.

Yeah, I went to my Gamestop to pay off my balance last night and the guy told me they got the discs in that day. I tried to bribe him but no go

And they aren't doing a midnight release, which ****ing pisses me off...we've only been waiting for like 5 years.

I knew you were full of shit, I used to work at Gamestop way back in the day, and they are super anal about employees and taking home copies of games early. Doesn't happen. BUT...I got mad, just in case you really were playing it!

I know the visual effects will be amazing, no dobut about that.

What I really hope for is the real car physics that this game has been missing for far too long. Not to mention an advanced damage system, which I really doubt will happen in GT5.

One way or another there is going to be bugs, like all games.

Im anxious to grab this one, i hardly use my ps3 always on the pc, would be good to re introduce myself to my console.

Anyways i have seen screenshots to the game, and it looks stunning, really polished up well.

Well thats the thing...it's not really a "game", more of a simulator. You have to be kind of a hardcore car guy to be into the GT series, anyone else would find it to frustrating and wouldn't understand the point. Often times, it's not even fun and it just pisses me off, but I must go on.

A lot has changed, a lot has stayed the same. The exceptional eye for detail has only been reserved for 200 or so "premium cars", the other 800ish cars don't have modeled interiors and you can't change the wheels. The dynamic weather and timing system is awesome. The old Special Stage Route 5 track which is always raced at night looks AWESOME. Lighting effects are impeccable. Driving physics, well it's Gran Turismo...what more do I need to say? B-Spec mode has been expanded to a full part of the game, it's no longer something you pick for races you don't feel like driving. The home menu is pretty sweet and somewhat customizable.

I liken playing this game to going away on a trip for a long time, and coming home and your house has been remodeled and updated with all the newest stuff. It feels that good. There are a few bugs (like jagged shadows) which I'm sure will be patched in time, as the life span of this game goes on for years. There's a lot of extras...like the Top Gear test track, a Gran Turismo TV channel which I haven't checked out yet. A museum, which I also haven't checked out yet.

All in all I have 0 complaints. This is a driving simulator, and for those who understand why it's such an important title, you will love it. Everyone else just won't understand.

No I haven't messed with it yet. The single player is so engrossing, online seems like an after thought. Plus, I'd like to get my skills up a tad before I venture into the world of live players.
