    Who has E*Trade?

I was bored in the dorm the other night and decided to open up an account. I thought I was gonna get free trades for the next 60 days but you have to deposit a certain amount of money and I only had $200 to spare so I didnt get it. But nonetheless so far I love it, im learning a ton and they have so much information on their website.

I'm trying it out for the 60 day period before I decide wether to close the account or put in the minimum deposit of $500 to keep it open.

But I was just wondering if any of you all have it and like it? I saw some bad reviews about it from random people on google but a family member of mine invests heavily and he said he has heard nothing but good about them. So just wondering if you all had any input on it?

    Thanks,
    Fatty

I'm the same as KP.... All online with my Bank. TD Waterhouse makes it easy. I have been thinking of checking out Etrade for a while and now after reading this thread I think I'll take a look right now

Yea man so far I'm loving it except for missing out on the free trades, but that was my fault for not reading the fine print. I didnt think about the others because Scottrade is like $7.99 i think per trade but it takes $500 to even open the account so I figured I would wait and see how Etrade worked. Either way if I dont make enough to keep the account open I'll just go ahead and deposit enough to keep it open because I'm loving it.

I am 18... so im getting started investing quite early haha

HitIt you are going to make a fortune off of that, idk how many shares you have but i think its worth like over 300 now so im sure whenever you decide to sell you will be very happy lol.
I bought one more consistent stock and then I am doing some day trading with the rest just kinda seeing if I can make some profit, its not really day trading more like every 4 day trading for me lol

But yea thanks D7M I am working here at school and basically going to start taking what money I can spare and dumping it into my account and trying to see what kind of profit margin i can make. I love buying those penny stocks, I know its risky business but the way I see it I'm not planning to retire off this money so if I do lose a little its not the end of the world and I mean come on who doesnt like thinking of the fact they own 300,000 shares of something lol

In a couple weeks I will post the name of a stock we will be playing, its on the tsx venture but the intial buy will be quite low so lots of potential to make some good coin over the next 4-6 months.

I was lucky enough to load up on 1000 of tech resources (tck.b) last year when the market fell... grabbed them just under $5, I think they are about $46 this morning

I just looked up that tech resources and thats impressive man, I remember when prices were really low on some stuff and I wanted to buy but I didnt really know anything about any of the online stock brokers and stuff. But I hope I can find something good once I get enough money to invest in something with really good potential to grow big and see how it goes. I just have to find something like that and force myself to not even look at it and just let it take its course otherwise ill get a little antsy with it. But what were you talking about in the post before KP about that stock?

I'll bring it up when I know more about its offerings. Until then I dont want to spill too much... it will be good for a couple dollars play but if you have 20-40,000 shares which will be like a $2G buy in then you will make some decent coin

We should have a stock trading Thread in the AR

another one I did pretty good on was andean resources (and), bought it just under $2 about 3 months ago and its about $6 right now, got as high as $7... the last one I bought was connacher oil & gas (cll) but its kind of staying pretty stagnent right now, but I bought them around $1.20 so I have time to see the profits grow over the next couple months as it gets colder.

i had some good/lucky timing on apple as I came into some extra dough at the same time i was reading about the upcoming new fangled iphone (this was aug. 06). one look at that and i had to buy. i'm not a market player as usually i don't have extra cash to play around, but research is your best friend. as an example of not so good luck, i went in on toshiba and then sony won the hd disc standard war.
