Hey Everybody!
Thanks for a terrific site-I've found some very helpful advice here. I'm a mid 50's fella, single dad of three kids, that does okay for an old boy. I'm in the process of my second (or 3rd, 4th...) "comeback" into moderate weight training and martial arts.
I've followed a pretty decent diet for awhile, I get regular medical checkups. Last year, I even had a (approximately) 1800 dollar "super" scan, stress-test, etc. (that I paid OUT OF POCKET for, because my insurance sucks big time), not due to symptoms, but wanting to be on the safe side before taking on any rigorous training program. I checked out well, but I fit almost every darn symptom of a low T condition.
The 64,000 question is whether there are any at-home tests for various hormone levels (eg. testosterone; hcg; hgh) that are valid and reliable tests. Maybe even to monitor levels, if not to used as an initial baseline measure. Any such thing? The reason I ask is that my insurance is so bad I'd pretty much pay out of pocket for any of this, and my kids come first.
Much thanks in advance, and thanks for an informative environment. I love this site!!
