    2011 sucks balls

    Just lost my job which was a complete shock. Had a lunch with my boss last tuesday everything was fine. Thursday his boss told him they are eliminating my position.

    And my father probably only has a few days left. Dr's said on sat he would prob need a feeding tube. He signed something he doesnt want one. They just emitted him to the hosp for low blood pressure and dehydration.

    Sorry to hear about your dad gixxer. My thoughts are with you and your family. 11 has been a pretty bad year for me aswell. The only fatherly figure I've ever had is in the hospital with pneumonia right now. There's also a ton of other things going on. Keep your head up and let's hope this year gets better.

    My cousin went in the hospital for a mild procedure, she had a seizure and died unexpectedly. Left behing a 19 year old son and two 12 year old little girls, she was 42. I sae her a month ago, happy and health as a lark. Always smiling. We lay her to rest tomorrow. 2011 has not gotton off to a good start. My thoughts are w you gixxer. Tell your dad to say yes to the tube. When you have life, you have hope.

    My thoughts are with you - that's a double whammy of things that are hard to deal with. As for your dad, tell him you love him and that you appreciate all he did. He will appreciate that. As for you, try to look at life with a long range perspective. It's not about the last 5 mins but about the time you've spent together over a life and the gifts he has left you with. My dad died 20 years ago and I still miss him, but a part of him is with me still. About the job - it's just a job so try to make the best of it. Get your unemployment and some references and talk to everyone you can about getting a new position. If you can - take a month or more off for yourself. You'll be working your whole life, so missing a month or 2 won't be a big deal in the big picture.

    Take good care of yourself buddy, go see a funny or exciting movie (Tourist is great) and make sure you get some good meals in. While it may seem like the sky is falling now, it will all work out some how. Feel free to PM me if you want a total stranger to talk to.

    PS - and for me at least exercise is great - gets the endorphins flowing and makes you feel good. If all that doesn't work - go to one of the Asian massage parlors and get a blow job...J/K ;-)

    There's no set of rules for this situation. Watching my mother die was a wrenching experience I still don't have the words to describe. I have experienced no deeper grief than the day she died, ever. I'd felt heartbreak before, over lost loves and the death of other relatives and beloved pets ... but nothing broke my heart so thoroughly as that week of watching her sick and in pain, fighting, seeming to get better, and then dying. Although nothing could make losing my mom "better", the well-wishes and condolences did give me a slim tether to the world of the living that kept me from teetering over the edge into a black hole of despair. I hope this board can help you through these tough times and I am sure there will be some great members to talk to if you ever needed too.
