Funny he is so anti-drug but played drug music. For instance in his amboy dukes band a song called "Below The Belt' Definitely an acid type song. And in The Damned Yankees a song "Can You Take Me High Enough". But love his music regardless.

Pantera did a remake of "cat scratch fever" and I was impressed. Its hard to make a classic sound just as good if not better. The original tune makes it hard to like any variance.

You know you watch Ted and company in concert on dvd and tapes and see that bands of his day IE Journey,REO,Foreigner, etc produced hit after hit and selling out every football stadium in the country, then fast forward to today with the likes of Justim Beiber and Brittany Spears and you have to wonder WTF is happening to the music industry.

You must be young Shol'va because during Ted's time (not a fan at all), there were Justin Bieber types. Davey Jones, The Carpenters, The Mammas and the Papas, the Partrich Family, Donnie Osmond, David Cassidy, Bobby Sherman, the list goes on and on.

As for Nugent, I can go on and on about his nonsense, but I won't.

Your opinion...sorry but I can't agree. But I'm sure you'd probably think some of the classic soul and R&B music I listen to isn't good music. To each his own brotha!!!

Hey man, we can take this out back...brotha!!!

    lol

Believe it or not, im only 28. The only reason I know bout Ted Nugent and any other classics is because I was raised around parents who were deep into classics and I grew up on it. Kind of instilled in my blood, you know? As far as sou, r&b, etc...I like it all baby! I love all sorts of music. I can find something good in them all.

I like Cisco Kid, Low Rider, Get Down, All Day Music, Slippin Into Darkness all by WAR. Not mention Space Station Number 5 by Montrose, even Tell It Like It IS by Aaron Neville

ho sh1t!? you know montrose w/ Sammy hagar? that album... rock the nation is incredible.... maybe one of my top 5 albums of all times...

"Well I remember when I was 17, my father told me to pick your dream.. Said life aint easy, as it seem, when you get older you'll know what I mean..."

Sammy really made that band rock...

I think some other albums I really enjoy from way back (not necessarily my top 5)
    Paranoid - Black Sabbath
    Alligator Lady - Cameo
    ZZTop - Eliminator

In 78 I saw Led Zeppelin at the Oakland Arena.... there were about 104,000 people there... we camped out over night waiting in line

Saw Ted Nugent in concert maybe 6 times..

When I was a kid, I made it a point to go to every single "Day on the Green"... It's easier to count the ones I missed. For $12 you got to see about 5 or 6 major bands... and it went from about 10am to 7 at night or so....

I missed the animal tour by Pink Floyd
    missed Rolling Stones....
    missed KISS
    missed Queen
    missed CCR
    missed Bowie - Ziggy Stardust
    missed DEVO
Missed Grateful Dead.... how'd I do that?
    Missed the Ramones

that's just the rock bands... been to several country councerts, a few "other" doc severenson for example...

some of these I'm not sure about... been along time and there was much partaking of certain substances....

so say a conservative number for the number of bands that play is 6 on a day on the green, and say I go to 6 concerts a year (conservative).... with 4 years of going before going in the military, you can easily see there were hundreds of bands. I continued going as I could in georgia and germany.... left the military, and it started petering out some.... then several years ago I started going to concerts again.... minus the partaking of certain chemical substances

(I have too much time on my hands here)

Yeah Like I told you my B/F has a ton of these albums from all eras. So I get to hear all kinds of cool stuff from that genre. Supertramp, Moody Blues, Dereck And The Dominos. It's like a who's who and yep even them. Ever heard of a song called Tower by Angel? It was like a glam rock group from your time. Its on youtube

I'm surprised you asked.... I thought my opinions were pretty clear. I agree 100% with everything he says... the second amendment IS my CCW permit... period! I believe if all law abiding citizens carried, crime rate would drop. Justice would be swift, and there would be a lot more dead criminals than behind bars....

I have no patience for criminals that prey on others.... they do what they do because they believe they have a decent chance of getting away with it. All are cowards, that are too fukkin stupid to know how to do for themselves, so instead, like the pvssies they are, decide to take from someone else....

...we as a society pamper and coddle our criminals, and I say enough is enough!

I remember back in '07 he made a racial statement in the town he was performing at by saying how he liked how many white people were in the town. Anybody remember this?

I don't mind what Ted says, he's pro-white, nothing wrong with that. In the statement above he expressed a pro-white stance, not a racists stance. Oh well, but when it comes to his gun control rant, his emotion clouds his judgement, IMO. And that's the problem with this issue, people allow their emotions to good in the way of a good argument. For instance, a couple of the examples he quoted from were instances in states with very lenient gun laws. Not everyone wants to own guns (ie maybe the old lady he was referring to). Nobody likes repeat offenders, but in a civilized society nothing is perfect and you can't go around killing every offender for every offense.

did you ever see the above movie? If you have not... please treat yourself and rent the$1 dvd...

now.... BEFORE i ever saw joe satriani, i had only listened to his recordedmusic.... andto tell you the truth, one big guitar solo like that... it's hards to follow when It's not live.... up to that point, I'd say jimmi page, maybe iommi, vai, maybe even eddie van halen, or kirk hammett from metallica..... pete townsend? really? but if ask clapton, he would say stevie ray vaughn... and in fact, that is recorded in an interview... and I'd have to agree with him.

So anyways, I went to a bone bash.... featuring Blue Oyster Cult, Dokken, Joe Satriani, and Deep Purple.... in that order, with DP closing out the show.... Ritchie Blackmore was no longer inthe band, and now Steve Morse.... but steve morse did all the same solo's that blackmore ever did, and ritchie blackmore was pretty amazing....

BOC i've seen so many time I no longer fear the reaper.... dokken was a little different... germanband I believe, but then Joe came out, skinny little joe, big tennis shoes, bald head, big black sunglasses.... and with one stroke, he began.... almost immediately, my jaw dropped in amazement.... 5 minutes later, i look at my son, and his jaw was open.... i look around, and EVERYONE's jaw is open..... no one is moving... NO ONE! And for the next 90 minutes or so I didn't move.... mate, I've probablya been going to concerts longer than you've been alive, so when I say I was beyond amazed, I'm not over exagerating. And after his first 10 minutes "solo", and he was done.... everyone flew out of their seats and was screaming, pounding their palms to gether fiercely.... and joe just stood there with a big sh1t eating grin on his face, nodding his head up and down, as if to say, well, if you like that, then fasten your seatbelts, cuz I aint even warmed up yet.... and he belted out another 10 minute solo.... short pause.... blew on his fingers as if they were on fire... and continued jamming... me and my kid both stared at one another... remembering to breathe.... his chords and riffs were so complex, belted out so incredibly fast, I would say he is orders of magnitude above even Kirk Hammett from metallica.... and to be honest.... clapton aint even any wehre close to being in the same ball park.

the reason most dont' apprecaite his genius is because, like I said before.... his music is not really geared up to be on a dvd or played on the radio.... the only way you can truly appreciate Joe, is to go see Joe.

If you haven't seen joe.... you really can't make a fair comparison.... everyone that sees him live in concert, will agree with me... atleast all my mates agree with me....

and oh, btw... when deep purple came out and played, there was really noresponse from the audiance.... we were all too numb from Joe...

(and deep purple is ALWAYS kick asss!!!)
