    Hi ButterG.....welcome here!

The guys here are pros with a great heart.

For them to help you get started, please post up what you eat and how much and when you eat. Then they can review your diet and help improve it.

PS: to the trainers.....I think ButterG is very eager to learn with dedication
    GOOD LUCK!

Judging by the pics, I wouldn't worry about bulking anymore. It looks like you put on a lot of mass since the before pics (bf included). As far as competing, I think you actually look much better in the first pics. I would reevaluate your goals....JMO. Good luck, bro!

    Yes, bad idea

I dont care what anyone says with added muscle there is added fat no matter how clean ur diet is

AAS and pep's will obviously reduce the fat gain or ever reduce overall BF but that is another topic up for debate

Any size you gain will only apear as..... well bulk/fat because ur BF is already fairly high.

You need to get lean ans then begin to gain weight slowly. Adding good gains over a long period of time is the only way to look good and stop you from yo-yo'ing

Get to 10-12% BF and see what u got

Then decide to do a 'lean bulk'

M gonna dit u at 22% bodyfat ( im pretty bad at estimating tho TBH )

    237 lbs
    185 lbs LBM
    52 lbs Fat

If you git down to 203 with no muscle loss you would be sitting at 10% BF

In all reality that is highly unlikley IMO, you will loose some LBM

I would hazard a guess and say you need to loose 30-40 lbs before you should consider a 'lean bulk'

    Since you have multiple threads going I am going to copy and paste my comments from the picture thread;

Being you asked for comments. I would be 10x more impressed had your "now" pictures been the "before" pictures and your "before" pictures were your "now" pictures. You went from a lean healthy guy with some decent muscle to someone who is literally obese. I know those are not the words you want to hear but if you want honest assessments you have to be open to critisism. I would suggest getting your diet under control immediately and start a serious cardio schedule.

No offense Standby but this is terrible advice. I am not sure why you think the game works like that but I can assure you it doesnt.

I commented on your pic thread. Slow and steady muscle gain is where it's add Buttery. The fact that you are open to critisism and are willing to listen to other peoples advice is a great asset and will serve you well in this sport.

Sorry i'm late to this one Buttery, props for being open and posting up pics etc. I see that Slimmer has you well on your way here at AR!

I couldn't agree more with what everyone has been telling you. You need to drop bodyfat man, there's no doubt about it. You shouldn't even be dreaming of the word bulk right now IMO. You went from 135 to 237, but how much of that was quality mass? You put on ALOT of bodyfat brotha. I'm not saying that to be mean, but one thing we do well here is honesty. FG said it best above....

Listen to this advice. Plenty of people run the 'bulk/cut/bulk/cut' cycle, I came into this game with the same mentality. More often then not, you bulk and add a bunch of fat and a little bit of muscle (like you did), then you cut and drop a bunch of fat and most of the muscle... when all is said and done you may wind up with a pound or two of muscle.... hardly seems worth putting your body through all that when you could have achieved BETTER results just going slow and steady with a full body recomp.

Look for my progress thread in this section, also look for Baseline's (in the remote trainer sub forum) as I believe you will find ALOT of useful info there.

    Good luck!

Thanks to all above and OP you are in GREAT HANDS HERE..

So it is a consensus that he should have built slowly from his original photo but since he didn't, now what? what is the solution?

IMO a diet and cardio routine that at first is focused primarily on blasting bodyfat, and then adjusting slowly to maintaining LBM while continuing to slowly reduce fat. Cardio will play a key role here, he should be doing it 6x a week bare minimum. I'd be doing 2x a day (actually, I am). AM fasted and again PWO. Eat below maintenance but not by much since cardio will be so dialed in.

Well what's done is done. The best thing you can do now is put together a diet that allows you to lose 1-2 lbs a week until you get under 15% bodyfat MINIMUM. I wouldnt worry too much about BMR or TDEE I would just shoot for around 2800-3300 calories a day right now with a traditional 40-40-20 split. You are also going to have to become very good friends with the various pieces of cardio in your gym. I would aim for 250-300 minutes per week. 6 sessions at 45 minutes each as an example. At this point it really doesnt matter when you do it just as long as you do it. If that amount of cardio doesnt have you losing 1-2lbs per week consistently then you need to drop the calories by 200 per day and continue to adjust until you start dropping weight again. You should be able to lose fat without any major plateaus for quite some time. Once your bodyfat levels get in the 12-14% range you could consider adding in some calories and thinking about slowly adding some muscle onto your frame again. The main thing now is to get you healthy and in shape again. Right now your bodyfat levels are way too high for reasons beyond just cosmetic. That would be my advice for now. Notice nowhere in here did you hear the words "cut" or "bulk". You should do your best to remove those from your vocabulary as well. They serve no purpose to you for your immediate goals.

^^^more great advice. When he returns, perhaps he should start an entire new thread with a log....what do ya think?

Question: for BGood and anyone else including me.....does it matter which type of cardio is done? as long as the heart rate is up to the cardio level?

All advice given here on this thread is SOLID!

Op, take heed and you will go far. You have an awesome base to build on once the fat is stripped aeay brotha. Dont give up when the going gets tough and you will be happy of the outcome...i promise. Goodluck to you and hope all goes well.

I've been having nightmares again. The little doll is standing by my bed whispering stack_it in a low creepy voice. I just cover my head and cry myself back to sleep .

^^^ yep....I would suggest to start an entire new thread come Monday... a real Log of what you are doing: exactly what you are eating, how much and at what time plus your workout/training. And also any emotional/mental challenges which need to be addressed to keep you on track. This way you stay on top of it as well as get guidance along the way from the TEAM here who will help you get to your dream.

I look forward to your progress. It will be a joy to watch unfold.
