    Tax question

My wife and I filed separately obviously since we are separated. I have already filed now, but we can get a shitload more back if we file together. Is there anyway for me to unfile or something???

Do a search on the IRS site, and don't be afraid to call them. I wouldn't follow the advice of any non-professional on this one.

I prepared taxes for about three years at a full service regionally large cpa firm..... quite extensively actually, not the H&R block white wash crap. but it's been a few years, and I don't keep up with all the changes.... I'm good for general questions, and still know how to look stuff up.... but to tell you the truth, now that I"m an expat, I'm having a specialist do mine....

Ok I can do Amended, but my Federal was rejected anyway because apparently I got my daughters SSN wrong

So do I still have to Amend or can I start from scratch?

when you say rejected.... does this mean the irs never received? if so, then you are a late filer, and you would file as you normally would

Hey T R how come I can spend 10 grand on losing lottery tickets and not be able to deduct them, but if I win the lottery the govt. gets 50% even though I used my own money and took the gamble to win it?

you can deduct losses to the extent of your winnings. that is the what.

If you want to ask a "WHY" question, that is the next department down.... one past "X"
