    weight training in the morning

Wanted to get people's opinion on taking a preworkout supplement when I first workout in the morning (http://www.completenutrition.com/all...il?object=5906).

So I get up in the morning get the preworkout drink, then hit the gym.

What I have been doing before is eating a 6 oz. lean ground beef patty (96 percent lean) then waiting 10 min then preworkout then gym. Only problem my stomach is unsettled because the burger absorbs most of the preworkout.

Try eggs or something softer and quicker digesting than steak. ALthough steak is my favorite thing to eat preworkout. I had 2 filet Mignons and a sweet potato for breakfast! Love my red meat

Right that makes sense, but could I also just have the patty because it is fast then wait a little longer for the preworkout? Otherwise i'll scramble 6 eggs (3 without yoke) and call it good.

If time isn't an issue, the best course of action is to continue the red meat and simply wait longer for the pre-workout, yes. I think the ideal pre-workout meal is red meat, complex carbs, and fat (inherent to most red meat) about 90 minutes before the gym. This allows you time to not feel "full" while lifting but you'll still have a ton of sustained energy/amino absorption going on as you lift due to the duration achieved with complex carbs and the slower-digesting pro/fat combination. Inherent creatine too but that's not a deal breaker, just another small pro. But yeah, that red meat will digest over several hours so just let your stomach settle for 45-60 minutes and then down your pre-workout supp. Also, you should just try 1000mg L-Arginine, 200mg caffeine pre-workout - that's what I do - pointless to do a specialized powder that's bound to have a bunch of nasty additives and fillers. BCAAs/Glutamine intra/directly PWO and then a whey shake 15 minutes later with creatine monohydrate = results.

10 mins?an hour before training would be better the food is fully absorbed and ready to go then..i train in the morning and have a bowl of oats, protien shake and my egg/egg whites micro'd in a bowl takes 5 mins i wait 3/4 hr drive to the gym and thats my hour works a treat.dont take long to do the food either, even put the oats in with your shake then 2mins for the eggs you could prob eat it and make it all within 10mins.
